Disney Announces NEW Hotel Refurbishment Coming in June

If you’re planning a trip to Disney World this summer, be aware that a popular Disney hotel will be undergoing some changes.

Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club resort has been undergoing a major pool refurbishment lately, and it looks like that refurbishment period is about to extend throughout the summer. Disney just dropped some news on the popular resort, and we’re here to share it with you!

Refurbishment projects at Disney World are a bittersweet thing. On one hand, it’s nice to see how carefully Disney maintains its parks and resorts to keep them up to date. On the other hand, it makes it hard for visitors to either plan or experience something in its entirety. Disney World has been going through a lot of construction and refurbishment this year, and it looks like the trend is going to continue!

Yacht and Beach Club started its construction project recently with Stormalong Bay, the hotel’s fan-favorite pool. The pool has been closed for refurbishment since January 2025  and currently has no official reopening date announced. It’s taken a long time for this pool to be fully refurbished; we think it’s due to the size of the resort’s pool.

Now, Disney just posted on its website that the Beach Club hotel will also undergo “routine exterior maintenance.” This will begin in early June (no specific date is currently set) and continue through September 2025. During this time, the porte cochere will be closed.

Disney always tries its best not to let construction disrupt guests, but it did note that construction will be noticeable (which is inevitable). Outside of appearance, it doesn’t sound like this could impact your trip too much if you plan on staying there. Services, including valet, luggage assistance, and transportation, will remain available to guests!

Additionally, Disney stated that Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool will remain closed for maintenance through June 2025. So a lot’s going on over at the Yacht and Beach Club!

Don’t forget! The Skyliner will be temporarily closed from January 25th to January 31st, 2026. During the closure, buses will be available to all Skyliner destinations.
