Shula’s Steak House is closing for good — and soon.

Yup, the iconic, old-school steakhouse inside the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel is officially shutting its doors on June 14th, 2025. If you’ve ever had dreams of sinking your teeth into one of their massive steaks or kicking back in that dark, cozy dining room, time is running out. Here’s what you need to know about the closing, the legacy of Shula’s, and what’s coming in to replace it.
Shula’s Is Saying Goodbye
After nearly 30 years of serving up big cuts and even bigger portions, Shula’s Steak House is leaving Disney World. Named after legendary football coach Don Shula, this place has been around since 1995 and has always been a bit of a hidden gem. It’s the kind of place that doesn’t scream “theme park,” which is probably why it’s had such a loyal fanbase all these years.

The vibe inside? Think wood paneling, leather chairs, moody lighting — the kind of steakhouse where you expect a glass of red wine to magically appear the second you sit down. It’s definitely more “night out” than “theme park pit stop,” and honestly, that’s always been part of the charm.

But that era is ending. Reservations are being accepted through June 14th, 2025, and after that, Shula’s will be gone for good.
What’s Coming Next?
Now, we know a lot of you are wondering — why is it closing? The answer is actually pretty exciting: Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina is taking over the space.

Michael Mina is a James Beard Award-winning chef and runs The MINA Group, which manages over 40 high-end restaurants around the world. So while it’s sad to see Shula’s go, we’re also very intrigued by what’s next. Bourbon Steak already has locations in some seriously luxe hotels — like the Waldorf Astoria in California — and if our experience at that location is anything to go by, we’re in for a whole new level of Disney dining.
How Much Time Do You Have?
Here’s the key info:
- Last day for reservations at Shula’s is June 14th, 2025
- Bourbon Steak is expected to open mid-summer 2025
So if Shula’s is on your Disney dining bucket list, or if it’s a nostalgic favorite, now’s the time to make that reservation. You’ve officially got one month left.
What Made Shula’s Special
For a lot of Disney regulars, Shula’s has been that “adult dinner” spot. Maybe it was the nightcap after a day in the parks, or the special occasion meal during a big trip. The food was consistently good — rich, flavorful, and generously portioned. And yes, expensive. But the price matched the experience. It wasn’t trendy, it wasn’t flashy, and that’s what people liked about it.

Plus, not everyone even realized it was on Disney property. Being tucked away in the Dolphin Hotel gave it that “if you know, you know” energy.
What You Can Expect from Bourbon Steak
We already got a taste of Bourbon Steak at its California location, and here’s the deal — it’s fancy. Like, budget-ahead fancy. This is the kind of spot where you’re not just eating, you’re full-on dining. From duck fat fries to a $64 Smoked Old Fashioned (yes, really), it’s less “grab a bite” and more “treat yourself.”

Let’s break it down a little:
- Cocktails: $30–$65
- Appetizers: $20–$40
- Steaks: $70–$120
- Sides: $15–$25
- Desserts: $15–$20
You’re probably looking at $175–$225 per person, especially if you go all out. Which, let’s be honest, kind of feels like the point with a place like this.

So yeah, it’s going to be an upgrade in terms of luxury and pricing. Whether that’s good or bad depends on what kind of dining experience you’re looking for at Disney.

Final Thoughts
Shula’s closing marks the end of an era. It’s one of the last holdouts of that classic, no-frills steakhouse feel on Disney property. If you’ve never been — or if it’s been years — now is the time to go. Seriously. Make a reservation, order the steak, get the potatoes, and soak in the atmosphere while you still can.

Because once June 14th hits, it’s gone for good. And while Bourbon Steak sounds amazing (and probably will be), it’s definitely not going to be the same.
In the meantime, we’ll be looking for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to AllEars for the latest Disney news and more!
