The Danger with Leaving Disney’s Riviera Resort Late at Night

Inspired by Walt Disney’s travels to the French Riviera, Disney’s Riviera Resort offers stunning views and elegant theming, as well as rooftop dining at Topolino’s Terrace and Skyliner access.

However, there’s one thing you’ll want to check before you head over there because it could cause a big mess.

The best way to visit the Riviera is to use the Skyliner. You can take this from Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT, making for a quick ride to the resort. Note that you likely will not be able to park here unless you have a dining reservation at Topolino’s, and that is why the Skyliner is the best option.

So whether you want to participate in the Skyliner Bar Crawl or grab dinner at Primo Piatto, you will want to check the Skyliner hours. Disney says that “Disney Skyliner will close each day 90 minutes after EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios closes.”

This is important to take note of because you don’t want to take the Skyliner there, lose track of time, and miss your ride home! It’s a good idea to check the hours before heading there and maybe set an alarm on your phone to allow you plenty of time to travel back to where you need to. If the Skyliner does close on you, you can use a ride share service, but that will cost you.

It’s also important to be cautious on days that it might storm, as the Skyliner could close down. When this happens, Disney usually runs a bus on the Skyliner route, but that could take more time than the Gondolas normally would. This is not a reason to skip out on the Riviera Resort, just something to be aware of!
