If you’re planning a Disney vacation soon, it would be wise to see if any travel advisories are in effect before you travel.

While you may be eager to visit Disney Destinations worldwide due to new offerings or for first-time visits, you should be advised that the U.S. State Department has a few travel advisories in effect in some Disney Destination areas.
All of these destinations have an advisory, and we’ll list them off beginning with the least to most severe levels. Each location is home to one or more Disney Parks, Adventures by Disney, Disney hotels, and/or Nat Geo Expeditions.
Level 1 — Exercise Normal Precautions

These locations are currently at a Travel Advisory: Level 1 and only require normal precautions when visited. These countries with Disney Destinations are as follows:
- Argentina
- Australia
- Austria
- Cambodia
- Canada
- Czech Republic
- Greece
- Hungary
- Iceland
- Ireland
- Japan
- New Zealand
- Norway
- Palau
- Poland
- Portugal
- Rwanda
- Slovakia
- Switzerland
- Vietnam
Level 2 — Exercise Increased Caution

Areas with a Level 2 travel advisory have the warning of “Exercise Increased Caution”. These areas have heightened risks to safety and security. Disney Destinations in this category can be found in:
- Antarctica
- The Bahamas — Crime
- Belgium — Terrorism
- Costa Rica — Crime
- Ecuador — Civil unrest, crime, and kidnapping
- France — Terrorism and civil unrest
- Germany — Terrorism
- Hong Kong — Arbitrary enforcement of local laws
- Italy — Terrorism
- Laos — Crime, civil unrest, and unexploded bombs
- Netherlands — Terrorism
- Peru — Crime, civil unrest, and the possibility of kidnapping
- South Africa — Crime and civil unrest
- Spain — Terrorism and civil unrest
- Tanzania — Crime, terrorism, and targeting of LGBTI persons
- United Kingdom — Terrorism
Level 3 — Reconsider Travel

Areas within Level 3 prompt travel reconsideration. These areas pose serious risks to safety and security. Disney Destinations that are in areas that are considered Level 3 include:
- Baja California and Jalisco, Mexico — Crime and kidnapping
- Egypt — Terrorism, military zones, and the Embassy’s limited ability to assist dual national U.S.-Egyptian citizens who are arrested or detained
- Israel — Terrorism and civil unrest
- Mainland China (Shanghai) — Arbitrary enforcement of local laws, including in relation to exit bans, and the risk of wrongful detentions
- Uganda — Crime, terrorism, and anti-LGBTQI+ legislation
- West Bank — Terrorism and civil unrest
Level 4 — Do Not Travel
Countries and areas that are classified as Level 4 are deemed not safe to travel to by the U.S. State Department. Per the State Department, “this is the highest advisory level due to greater likelihood of life-threatening risks. During an emergency, the U.S. government may have very limited ability to provide assistance. The Department of State advises that U.S. citizens not travel to the country or to leave as soon as it is safe to do so.” Fortunately, no Disney Destinations currently meet this criteria.
Many countries have different advisory levels for different areas and advisories are always changing, so be sure to check them by clicking here. We’ll keep you posted on any travel advisory changes that affect Disney Destinations so stay tuned for all the latest updates.
