Making sure you’re prepared for the weather while on vacation to Disney World is something we talk about pretty often, so when severe weather rolls in, you bet we’re going to let you know!

We recently learned of severe weather systems that are moving into Disney World early today that could have big impacts on how you choose to continue with your Disney World park plans and want to make sure you’re able to adjust your plans accordingly.
We know all types of inclement weather could affect your ability to start and see through your Disney World trip but Orange County was recently issued a cautionary weather warning.

According to local weather news stations in central Florida, a Tornado Watch and subsequent wind advisory are now in effect for Orange County citing heavier winds and ominous skies.

Additionally, the neighboring county to the majority of Disney World in Osceola County is also under a wind advisory due to high winds.

Osceola County touches the corner of Disney World where Disney’s Animal Kingdom park is located while the other Disney World parks are in Orange County.
According to WKMG, the weather forecast has a few more surprises potentially for the remainder of the day like, “There could be one or two storms that are strong enough to meet the severe criteria both this evening and again overnight.”

The most impending hazard to those in these counties will be the heavy rainfall expected, strong wind gusts of up to 40-60 mph (possibly even higher at times), and possible isolated tornadoes that could potentially bring some hail. The bulk of the heavy rain will then be mainly to the north of Orlando and will continue moving east. The majority of the storms are expected to fizzle out around midmorning before the next line of storms fires up in the afternoon through the evening. This severe weather is expected to continue beyond sunset before there’s a break in the rain for a few hours.

This doesn’t mean Orange and Osceola Counties are completely out of the woods by nightfall though. The next round of severe weather to be wary of is anticipated to arrive overnight between 4 to 5 AM tomorrow morning.
