We’re no strangers to staffing changes inside the Walt Disney Company.

This year alone we’ve heard of staffing cuts, then the plan to create 13,000 new jobs, and so much more inside the company. However, it seems that someone who held one of the most important jobs in the company a few years ago is switching to a new company.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Zenia Mucha, the former Public Relations chief for the Walt Disney Company, is now taking a job over at TikTok.

She will join the social media platform as the “chief brand and communications officer.” She left Disney in 2021 after Bob Iger stepped down as CEO to become executive chairman.

Mucha is known for her “bare-knuckle style of dealing with members of the media” and has “vast experience in the world of politics as well as entertainment.” This change in leadership may be beneficial as TikTok faces members from both political parties wanting it banned in the U.S., even after TikTok has denied the claims that the app will share user data with “the Chinese Communist Party and that Beijing will use the popular app to further its interests in the U.S.”

The current operating officer, V. Pappas, is stepping down to serve as a strategic advisor to the company, according to TikTok’s CEO, Shou Chew. Mucha had already been working for the company as a consultant for the company prior to this announcement.
