Disney is no stranger to unique collaborations.

We’ve seen them work with Loungefly, designer brands, LEGO, and much more. And with the Disney100 celebration in full swing, we’ve seen loads of new merchandise and experiences. But Disney has dropped an announcement for a unique collaboration that you might not have expected.
During the celebration of Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, people could grab a 50th Anniversary license plate, so it only makes sense that for the Disney100 celebration, Disney collaborates on the design of…a car?!
In a press release, Hyundai Motor America detailed the introduction of its exclusive IONIQ 5 Disney100 Platinum Concept car at the New York Auto Show to commemorate Disney’s 100th anniversary.

This is the company’s first collaboration with Walt Disney Imagineering (where Imagineering has given visual creative input) and the design features unique visual elements and entertainment that draw inspiration from Disney, such as special lighting effects and music.

Angela Zepeda, the Chief Marketing Officer of Hyundai Motor America, stated that they are constantly seeking fresh approaches to engage with customers throughout their entire journey, and the enchantment of Disney motivates them to create moments of joy for their customers.

Here are some of the features of the Hyundai IONIQ 5 Disney100 Platinum Concept (note that these are the details for the show car, but details for the actual production model may vary):
- “Gravity Gold Matte exterior color
- Disney-inspired wheel styles
- Disney100 Platinum Edition exterior badging
- Disney100 logo embossed on front seat headrests and center console
- Disney100 logo on the floormats
- Lamp screens with Disney sparkle animations across headlights and taillights
- Moon roof etching details with a touch of pixie dust
- Disney-themed intro on the interior screen upon turning the car on which features iconic Disney music, the Disney100 logo and pixie dust
- Interior synchronized light show featuring changing light modes”

The car is all-electric and the Hyundai website notes that they are “excited to share a limited edition that will deliver an unforgettable experience for any Disney fan.”
See the video below for more details on the vehicle.
According to Hyundai, this is just one part of their collaboration with Disney and they’ll be rolling out new content and experiences throughout 2023.
