The Disney Cruise Line has been routinely updating its health and safety requirements since it first returned to sailing in August 2021.

And, while some of the policies have remained the same (such as face mask requirements), the policy that has seen the most change over time is the vaccination requirement for guests onboard. And, if you plan on sailing away on a Disney Cruise sometime soon, you’re going to want to know about the latest update that just went into place!
As of today, January 13th, 2022, all guests ages 5 and older are now required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to sail on a Disney cruise. Previously, guests younger than 12 only needed to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test to board, however, the policy is now stricter.

According to the new policy, guests 4 and under will still be required to show a negative COVID-19 test result (paid for by the guest) that was taken between 3 days to 24 hours prior to the sail date. The Disney Cruise Line accepts NAAT tests, rapid PCR tests, or lab-based PCR tests, but does NOT accept rapid antigen tests.

The change in vaccination requirement was prompted when the CDC and U.S. health officials approved the use of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for kids aged 5 to 11 back in November 2021. However, the policy wasn’t implemented on Disney cruises until now.

We’ll be sure to continue to keep you updated as Disney Cruise Line’s health and safety policies continue to evolve, so stay tuned to AllEars for the latest!
