NEWS: Another Disney Park Will Serve as a Mass Vaccination Site Beginning Next Month

The park reopened for a very short amount of time in July before having to close again shortly after in October due to rising COVID-19 cases. Since then, the reopening date has been pushed back quite a few times and, most recently, Disney announced that they will not reopen as planned on April 2nd. And, for those hoping to receive a new reopening date sometime soon, the wait might be longer than expected.

According to the Independent, Disneyland Paris will become a COVID-19 vaccination center next month. The location will be among 35 other “vaccinodromes” that are meant to serve as mass vaccination sites.

The site will administer the Pfizer vaccine and is anticipated to vaccinate up to 1,000 people every day according to Le Parisien. The hope is that France can increase their vaccination distribution rate as cases are on the rise in the country.

This won’t be the first time that a Disney theme park has served as a vaccination site. Disneyland Resort in California transformed a parking lot into a site at the beginning of the year and has been administering vaccines daily.
