We’ve all got our favorite Harry Potter moments, but which are the very best?

We asked AllEars readers which parts of the Harry Potter movies were their absolute favorites, and we got some answers that really resonated. Warning! Spoilers from all eight films ahead!

Beating the Bad Guys

Our readers sure love when the bad guys get what’s coming to ’em. Hands down the most submitted moment was when Molly Weasley beat Bellatrix during the Battle of Hogwarts.

Lots of Potter-fans loved when Hermione decked Draco in the Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

Three cheers for a big favorite — when Neville kills Nagini!

Other favorite bad-guy-comeuppance moments include when Umbridge was driven out of Hogwarts, defeating the Basilisk, and Voldemort’s death.

Oh, and not exactly beating a bad guy, but Sirius sure is trying when he says, “I DID MY WAITING, TWELVE YEARS OF IT IN AZKABAN.”

Classic Magic Moments

Lots of folks found their favorites with classic moments from the first movie like seeing Diagon Alley for the first time, when Harry and Ron meet, when Harry’s wand chooses him, and the sorting ceremony.

Or maybe you agree with our readers who liked the trio sneaking past Fluffy, hanging with ghosts in the Great Hall, or Harry’s first Quidditch match.

But all the favorite magic moments aren’t in the first film! Some of our readers love when Harry is finally able to cast his Patronus.

Big Feels

Apparently, our readers like to cry! Some sad and sweet moments made the list, like Harry and Hermione’s dance in the tent in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1.

Our very emotional readers chose sob-worthy scenes like Harry at his parents’ grave, burying Dobby, and Dumbledore’s death.

And some chose heartwarming and bittersweet scenes like Harry coming back to life, Sirius inviting Harry to live with him or when they reunite at Grimmauld Place, and saving Buckbeak.

Tri-Wizard Tournament Times

Our readers seem to dig Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire with lots of Tri-Wizard Tournament submissions, especially the Yule Ball.

Readers also like when Dumbledore yells at Harry for “PUTTING HIS NAME IN THE GOBLET OF FIAH” and when Harry scoops the golden egg from the dragon.

Fred and George Antics

We’re very on board with the fact that Fred and George antics are a favorite. There were lots of picks for when the twins set off fireworks!

Other favorite Weasley twin moments include when they bottoms-up the aging potion, playing switcheroo pranks on their mom, using the Marauder’s Map, and the opening of Weasley Wizard Wheezes.

Funny Scenes

Fred and George certainly are silly, but they’re not the only ones getting laughs. Harry on liquid luck gave lots of our readers the giggles, as did the Riddikulus scene.

Plus, some McGonagall fans picked when our favorite cat/witch gets to use the statue spell, “I’ve always wanted to use that spell!”

Wizard Romance

Shocking we know, but many of you picked the moment that Severus Snape says, “Always.” Don’t make us cry during our workday!

Some folks love Ron and Hermione’s romantic moments in the Chamber of Secrets too!

Hermione Being Hermione

But Hermione clearly doesn’t need Ron to be all that. Hermione sass was a serious favorites contender with the Leviosa scene, her famous “…or worse — expelled” quote, and when she slaps Harry.

True Heroism

Beating the bad guys might have been a big favorite on this list, but other heroic moments were chosen, too, like watching Harry run Dumbledore’s Army or the suspenseful multi-Harry flight over London.

Draco Malfoy Moments

And don’t worry, our favorite sad-boy Slytherin got some love. Some of our readers picked Draco Malfoy moments like his snarky quotes, when he reveals his Dark Mark, and when he has to walk over to the Death Eaters at the end of the Battle of Hogwarts.
