The refurbishment of Tambu Lounge at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is not breaking news, however the date of the closure was a moving target! Originally scheduled to close earlier this month, we have now confirmed that the Tambu Lounge is definitely closed for refurbishment.
The renovations there are estimated to last a few months, although no reopening date has been announced.
In the meantime, two temporary locations have been set up — both serving favorite drinks from the Tambu Lounge menu.
The first temporary location opens at 9:30 a.m. and is located near the Monorail station. No specific closing time is posted. This may vary depending on the day and resort activities.
This Monorail door location serves the popular Lapu Lapu served in a pineapple. They also offer the Pina Colava and Island Sunset drinks.
If you’re looking for an alternative to coffee in the morning you can opt for a Wasabi Bloody Mary or Mimosa Your Way. They also serve a selection of Kona Beers on draft.
The second temporary location opens at 2 p.m. near the ‘Ohana check-in area.
This location serves the popular Lapu Lapu served in a pineapple as well. They also offer the Pina Colava and Island Sunset drinks. Instead of the “breakfast” drinks, they offer the Backscratcher and Captain’s Mai Tai. They also serve a selection of Kona Beers on draft.
There is no word on any food items being served at these temporary locations yet.
