We get that Super Bowl Sunday has already passed, but can we talk about next year’s Super Bowl for a second?!

We all know the iconic line when someone wins the Super Bowl — “I’m going to Disney World!” Well, following Sunday’s Super Bowl LX, ESPN and Disney announced that next year they will be going to the Super Bowl!
After the Super Bowl, Disney dropped a cameo-filled marketing campaign for ESPN’s Super Bowl, set for February 2027. The spot debuted on Good Morning America the Monday after Super Bowl Sunday, and it saw TONS of iconic characters from Disney getting ready to head to Super Bowl LXI.

Buzz Lightyear and Woody kick off the commercial, setting the tone for a rapid-fire series of cameos that includes Darth Vader, Iron Man, Anna & Elsa, Moana, Deadpool & Wolverine, Grogu, Stitch, Judy Hopps & Nick Wilde, Bart Simpson, and so many more. Throughout, all the characters say they’re heading to the Super Bowl, leading to the final scene where Lightning McQueen and a host of Disney characters are on the road to Los Angeles.

The creative concept drew inspiration from the iconic “I’m going to Disney World” phrase declared by Super Bowl champions moments after winning the biggest game on the biggest stage. Since the tradition began in 1987, the phrase has become a defining element of Super Bowl celebrations. Now, it’s being used backwards for this creative ESPN Super Bowl marketing campaign.

“Few phrases are as instantly recognizable in sports as ‘I’m going to Disney World,’” said Chief Marketing and Brand Officer of The Walt Disney Company, Asad Ayaz. “This campaign brings together the scale of ESPN, the global power of Disney’s brands and characters, and the excitement of the Super Bowl to create a shared moment that signals just how big this milestone is for our company and fans.”

Tina Thornton, Executive Vice President, Creative Studio and Marketing at ESPN, added to that statement. She said, “‘We’re Going’ is just the beginning of a year-long adventure to our first Super Bowl. It sets the tone for how we’re approaching Super Bowl LXI — by bringing together the storytelling power of Disney with the scale, voice, and passion of ESPN. Together, it allows us to build momentum, create emotional connection, and bring fans with us every step of the way.” You can check out the full ad below!
