NEWS: Disneyland Resort Announces 25th Anniversary Celebrations!

As hard as it is to believe, it was 25 years ago that Disney California Adventure opened in Disneyland Resort — we know, we feel like it was just yesterday!

A quarter of a decade is a big celebration for anything, but especially for a Disney park, in our book! Disneyland is celebrating their 70th Anniversary currently, so if you’re visiting between beginning of February and August 9th, you’ll be able to experience both!

Starting off strong, Mickey & Minnie will be in new outfits on Buena Vista Street for a limited time beginning February 6th! The sun motifs and bright color palette are meant to be a nod to when the park first opened, which we love.

Fans of Soarin’ Over California will be thrilled to know that it’s returning for a limited time! It’ll run from February 6th-July 1st, and then on July 2nd, the new Soarin’ Across America overlay will begin to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of America.

A new character is also making his debut at a popular restaurant at the resort — Humphrey the Bear will debut at Storytellers Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa beginning on February 6th! He’ll be one of the characters you’ll see at Donald’s Tales of Adventure dinner buffet. He’s adorable, hilarious, and will be popular, so we recommend snagging a reservation up to 60 days in advance.

Do you love popcorn buckets? We know we do, and the new Pixar Pal-A-Round Bucket is going to be SUPER popular! It changes color, has lighting patterns that will remind you of the actual ride, and has “Magic Inside” technology. It’ll be available starting February 6th at the following locations, but only as supplies last:

We can’t forget about the other special merchandise coming to the event, too! Beginning February 6th, a special Disney California Adventure 25th Anniversary Collection will be available at Elias & Co., Gone Hollywood, and Seaside Souvenirs. You’ll be able to grab:

A commemorative map will also be released on February 8th, which will be completely free for guests to grab, but it’ll only be available while supplies last! Additionally, if you want to also celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, you can snag the Limited Edition 25th Anniversary Pin at Acorns Gifts & Goods shop while supplies last!

Downtown Disney will ALSO be celebrating its 25th Anniversary with a special tote and pin!

Both feature the district’s new logo, so be sure to grab them while you can!

Bananas Foster beignets dipped in a banana rum glaze, sprinkled with cinnamon-suga,r and served with a vanilla crème anglaise (Available at Beignets Expressed now through August 9th)

French “70”: An effervescent blend of gin, prosecco, lemon juice, and lavender simple syrup (Available at Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill & Patio now through August 9th)
