REMINDER: The Disney World Skyliner Is Temporarily Closing Next Week

There’s a big closure happening soon in Disney World, and we’re here to issue a reminder!

It’s not uncommon to see rides close for maintenance or restaurants and shops close temporarily to get a little facelift, but transportation closures are more rare. However, one form of Disney transportation typically gets an annual closure for a little refurbishment…the Disney Skyliner!

The Disney Skyliner is having a scheduled closure from January 25th, 2026, through January 31st, 2026. This will affect all Skyliner routes, so you won’t be able to use it between the resorts or the parks.

So what do you do if you’re staying at a Skyliner resort next week? Well, in the case of a closure, Disney offers bus routes instead. Each hotel should have complimentary buses available that go to the same places the Skyliner typically travels. This may add a bit of travel time to your day, so make sure to budget accordingly.

We’ll be checking in after the scheduled closure is complete to make sure everything is back up and running smoothly. We’ll let you know if there are any changes to the refurbishment schedule or if any legs of the Skyliner route reopen early.

And if you’re traveling between Hollywood Studios and EPCOT, don’t forget about the Friendship Boat transportation! These boats travel along Crescent Lake from the front of Hollywood Studios to the back entrance of EPCOT, stopping along the way at the EPCOT area resorts. They’re a wonderful method of alternate transportation if you typically take the Skyliner.
