When people head to Disney World, there are many different shoe options to choose from. You can go closed-toe and pick from 100+ different brands of sneakers, or choose to go with open-toed shoes, and pick from yet another 100+ brands.

Many people who choose open-toed shoes go with Crocs, and we can kinda see why! They come in lots of different colors, are stylish, dry quickly if it rains or you get on a water ride, and they stay on your feet pretty well, too, especially in sport mode. However, did you know that Crocs are technically banned in part of Disney World?
It’s true! To be specific, Crocs are banned on escalators due to the way they can easily get stuck. It may seem like it can’t happen, but truthfully, it can. And we’ve seen it! How does this work? Well, you’re technically allowed to wear them in the parks, but instead of taking the escalator, you’re encouraged to take the stairs or elevator.

This isn’t just limited to escalators in Disney, either. If you look closely at the signs around escalators, you very well may find the same symbol saying the shoes aren’t allowed on escalators in other areas, too, like Universal Orlando, your local mall, shopping centers, and more. That’s because no matter where you are, all escalators basically hold the same type of danger when it comes to these kinds of shoes. It’s a real issue, and it can be a big problem!

However, despite this, Disney doesn’t *really* enforce it. That doesn’t mean it can’t change on a dime, and they’d start to, though, so if you’re in the parks and being told by a Cast Member you need to take an alternate mode of transportation, it’s important to listen!

If you’re pretty set on still wearing Crocs into the park, though, and are willing to take stairs instead, we do have some recommendations for you based on some recent ones we’ve seen! For example, if you really love EPCOT, you’ve gotta check out the Crocs Unisex Adult Classic Geometric Clogs!

These are silver and have that same pattern, just like Spaceship Earth does. You could even go to the parks in a Disneybound AS the ride! How fun would that be?
Looking for something a little more classic? Check out the Crocs Unisex-Adult Disney Mickey Mouse Clogs!

These have Mickey on one foot and Minnie on the other, plus a whole plethora of their different facial expressions on both shoes, making up the rest of the pattern. They’re perfect for any Disney day!
Finally, Star Wars fans CANNOT miss the Crocs Unisex-Adult Star Wars Off Court Clogs! Truly, there could not be a set of shoes more fitting for fans of the franchise, and we’re obsessed.

These are all black with stars all over, true to being in space, and have numerous Jibbitz that are Tie-Fighters, the Millennium Falcon, the Death Star, and more. To complete the look, it has “Star Wars” embossed into the sides as well!
