FULL TOUR of One of Our FAVORITE Princess Themed Disney World Hotel Rooms

Disney World has tons of nice resort hotels offered to guests, and one that we really like is the Port Orleans Riverside Resort!

Disney’s Port Orleans — Riverside Resort

The Port Orleans Riverside Resort is themed to the Mississippi bayou and features boat rides, a food court, a table-service restaurant, and more. We recently stayed in the Alligator Bayou room, and we wanted to give you a full tour. Take notes so you can see if this is somewhere you’d want to stay on your next Disney World trip.

If you’re looking for a travel agent to help with your vacation, we recommend our friends at Mouse Fan Travel. They’re experts in the field with over 20 years of vacation planning experience, and they can help take a bunch of the stress out of the entire booking process for you!

There are a couple of different styles of rooms that you can stay in at the Port Orleans Riverside. There are the Magnolia Bend rooms, which are located in plantation-style mansion homes. Then there are the Alligator Bayou rooms, which are in rustic lodges. As we said, we stayed in an Alligator Boyou room.

Alligator Bayou Room!

This room sleeps up to four adults, with an additional pull-down bed for an extra person (works best for a child). The room has two queen beds and is pretty standard for a room layout.

View of the room behind the beds

The first thing we noticed is that the room doesn’t have a lot of natural light, so it was a little dark. There were a good number of lights in the room, from the overhead to the ones by the bed, so you do get more bright light than natural.

Another view of the room

The pull-down bed is located under the TV, in front of the foot of both beds. So, if you have a kiddo with you in the room sleeping here, you’ll be able to see them.

The pull-down bed

When you pull the bed down, you’ll see Louis sleeping in the bayou, with Tiana and Naveen sleeping on his belly — it’s so cute! There are a couple of outlets located above the bed.

It’s Louis!

The room has an old-fashioned air conditioner in front of the window that adds to the overall aesthetic.

There’s a table for two for guests to eat at, put their stuff on, whatever you need it for. We like the wooden style of the table and chairs.

Dining table

There are a lot of places to put your snacks and drinks in the room. So stock up before your Disney days, and bring stuff with you to the park — it’s a lot cheaper than buying things at the park.

There’s a mini cuboard with lily pads on it…

…and a mini fridge to keep things cool!

There’s a night table in between the two beds as well, for storage of smaller and more valuable items.

The night table has a room phone and a phone guide, which was useful.

It also had the “Hey Disney” Alexa, which is great for checking park hours, seeing the time, setting an alarm, checking the weather, and more.

“Hey Disney”

Above the night table were two overhead lights that looked like old-fashioned lamps. Again, adding to the vibe of the room’s theme.

The lights!

Speaking of theming, there are little Disney nods around the room that we thought were cute. There was a hidden Mickey on the coat hooks.

There was also a New Orleans bayou-style piece of artwork on the wall.

Now let’s talk about the bathroom, which wasn’t separated from the room by a door, but a curtain instead. The curtain had a cute design — featuring Tiana and Naveen looking up at a bright light. Is it a star? Is it Ray?

The curtain to the bathroom

Once you open the curtain, you can see the sinks and the mirror. The toilet is separate from everything and does have a door.

Let’s open the curtain

There was a lot of lighting in the bathroom, which is nice for getting ready in the morning. The colors also added a nice vibe.

Inside the bathroom

The bathroom had a nicely designed counter, following the wooden, old-fashioned design of the room.

The counter!

The shower was located beside the toilet, so there is privacy for both of them, as there is a door to this small room.

The shower!

Did you notice Ray is sitting on a dandelion on the shower curtain?!

Ray!

Overall, the room offers a cutley designed, relaxing, and chill vibe. If you think this is something you’d enjoy, you should 100% consider it for your next Disney vacation! To get more of these insider Disney looks, make sure to stay tuned to AllEars.
