Disney Just Broke a HUGE World Record

We’ve seen some pretty impressive gingerbread creations in our time, especially over at the Disney World hotels during the holidays!

However, Disney has just taken things to a NEW level, completely outside of the parks. In partnership with Hulu, they’ve just broken the Guinness World Record for largest gingerbread house EVER with a recreation of the iconic house from Home Alone!

According to KTLA 5, Disney+ and Hulu made a 25-foot-tall gingerbread house inspired by the McCallister home from the first two Home Alone films. It’s two stories tall and is part of the way Disney is celebrating the 35th Anniversary of this iconic film!

The gingerbread house is made with 5,700 pounds of all-purpose flour and over 4,200 eggs, which created 4,400 gingerbread brick tiles and 800 roof tiles, then is held together with 20 gallons of edible glue and detailed with 20 pounds of fondant. The whole thing measures 58 feet long and 42 feet wide.

Visitors could visit the house in Los Angeles this past Thursday and Friday (December 18th and 19th), and could bring an unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots donations. It’s unclear what will happen to the gingerbread house now, but we’re hoping it’ll head to the Disney tree farm, where bees can get the sugar from it to make honey, just like the gingerbread creations from the Disney World resorts do each year! Pretty cool, huh?
