It’s almost time for World Princess Week!

This week is full of several special snacks, so we’re traveling around Walt Disney World to put them to the test. We’re hopping on the monorail to head to two Magic Kingdom hotels to grab these princess treats.
First, we’re headed to Kona Island at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to try out the new Moana Mini Cake!

This mini cake is a vanilla cake with mango mousse and buttercream for $7.49! First off, this cake is so gorgeous! It was a nice burnt sand color and costs significantly less than the $22 petite cakes from Amorette’s Patisserie.

It might be cute, but did it knock our socks off? Not really. We really wanted this one to blow us away, but it just didn’t. The vanilla cake was super soft, and the mango mousse was the star of the show. It packed a flavorful punch, but it was more concentrated in the center rather than spread throughout.

We would have loved to see more of the mango to make the vanilla and buttercream a bit more exciting. Don’t get us wrong! It was really good. We were just hoping to be wowed! There is a thick layer of buttercream, so if that isn’t your style, skip this one. For the price, we think this is a great treat. We just love that mango mousse so much, we think it needs even more.

For our second princess treat, we stopped by Gasparilla Island Grill at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. This is where we grabbed Tiana’s Mint Chocolate Chip Bar for $6.49.

It’s made with mint chocolate chip mousse and cocoa sablé! While we get that chocolate mint might not be everyone’s favorite, this was good! The mint wasn’t overpowering, and it was a good balance with the chocolate. The cookie on the bottom gave it some structure and texture, similar to an Oreo.

The overall texture reminded us of a panna cotta, which is like a gelatinous pudding. While we don’t know that we would pay for this again because we don’t love that texture, we have to say we can see people really enjoying this. It was a nice, light treat for the summer. If you love panna cotta, you’ll enjoy this!

Both of these treats are around for World Princess Week, which starts on August 25th and runs through August 31st! We’ve already tried another one of these delicious treats.
