Why Disney Adults Are Suddenly Booking Disney World Trips in December

Signs are pointing to a holly jolly Holiday season at Walt Disney World.

In recent years, December has become one of the busiest times at the Walt Disney World Resort, even outstripping the popular spring break and summer seasons. This looks to be especially true in 2025, as a combination of traditional Holiday offerings and unprecedented (I’ve been going to Disney World for decades and I’ve never seen quite this many discounts offered at the same time) discounts is leading many Disney adults to book trips!

For starters, all three of Disney’s major Holiday events are running through December.

The 2025 installment of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party has tickets on sale now, with prices ranging from $169 to $229 per person. After beginning in early November, this year’s December party dates are the 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th, 9th, 11th, 12th, 14th, 16th, 18th, 19th, and 21st.

Over at Hollywood Studios, Jollywood Nights is also returning for 2025. Tickets for this after-hours event range between $159 and $199 per person, and are on sale now. This year’s December dates are the 1st, 6th, 10th, 13th, 17th, 20th, and 22nd.

Meanwhile, EPCOT’s annual International Festival of the Holidays runs from November 28th to December 30th, and is included with park admission.

If you want to visit Disney World for any of these festive Holiday extravaganzas, the company is offering a litany of discounts throughout December.

From November 23rd to December 25th, 2025, Disney is offering up to 20% off rooms at select Disney hotels. In addition, when guests upgrade to a room-and-ticket package that includes non-discounted 4-day or longer standard theme park tickets, they’ll receive a Walt Disney World Resort Dining & Shopping Promo Card.

The card value varies based on Resort Category:

• $100 promo card for packages at Disney Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resort hotels
• $75 promo card for packages at Disney Moderate Resort hotels
• $50 promo card for packages at Disney Value Resort hotels

In addition to that overall discount, Disney is also offering specialty discounts for certain groups during the same period.

• Annual Passholders can save up to 30% on select Disney World hotel rooms for most nights from November 23rd to December 25th, 2025.
• Georgia residents can enjoy Holiday savings on select rooms at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, with rates starting at $129 a night. The rate is valid for most nights from December 12th to December 25th.
• Members of the US Military can save up between 20% and 30% on rooms at select Disney Resort hotels for select stays through December 19th, 2025.
