NEW “Super Speeder” Law Could Impact Your Next Disney World Trip

We know you’re racing to get to Disney World, but before you slam on that gas pedal, read up on a new law that can affect your visit.

Welcome to Disney World!

Florida just implemented a new law for “dangerous excessive speeding.”

According to Channel 6, HB 351, known as the Super Speeder law, will now make driving over 50 mph over the speed limit or driving at 100 mph or more a criminal offense.

“Under the law, someone who commits ‘dangerous excessive speeding’ can be punished by up to 30 days in jail and a fine of $500 for a first offense. A second offense could result in up to 90 days in jail and a fine of $1,000.”

And we’re off!

If there are repeat offenses within five years, it can result in the driver losing their license for up to a year.

The purpose of this bill is to make streets safer, as these “super speeders” are compromising the safety of roadways, traffic, pedestrians, and cyclists.

This law took effect on July 1st.

The roads around Disney World are known to have officers keeping an eye on speedsters, so keep a close eye on your speedometer and help keep everyone safe. We’ll keep our speed for Test Track when it opens in EPCOT on July 22nd.
