We’re begging you NOT to do these things when you have a Disney dining reservation!

We’ve got plenty of former Disney World Cast Members right here on the AllEars team, so it’s safe to say we’ve seen it all — especially when it comes to dining. In fact, there are several things we wish Disney World guests would STOP doing when checking in for their dining reservations.
While the problems we’ve seen occur during the check-in process for reservations aren’t necessarily life or death, they are something to be mindful of when YOU check in for your next reservation.

Starting us off, Cast Members advise against being pushy about time after you’ve checked in.

Once you check in for your reservation, Cast Members are working diligently to get you seated. Constantly going up and asking about time won’t really do you much use unless a significant amount of time has passed. Use good judgment and practice patience.

Our former Cast Members also ask that you don’t demand certain tables. It’s okay to ask for or request specific seating, and we encourage doing so if you have your heart set on a special table. With that said, don’t act like you own the place. If you can get the table you want, awesome! If you can’t, make the best of your current seating.

Another piece of reasonable advice is to avoid blocking the restaurant entrance.

Being considerate of others is always great advice. Plus, once you check in, there’s not much more you can do than sit or stand nearby and wait to be called. Just make sure you’re leaving room for people to walk in and out of the restaurant

Finally, our former Cast Members ask that you don’t show up late and demand a table. As always, do your best to show up to a reservation on time and be understanding that if you show up significantly late, there’s a chance the restaurant staff won’t be able to accommodate you.

Keep in mind that you have a 15-minute window after your official reservation time to begin your check-in, so being a little bit late isn’t the end-all be-all. If you can’t make that and know well in advance, cancel or modify your reservation. You can modify a reservation as long as you aren’t within 2 hours of the reservation time.

It’s always a good idea to follow the instructions with your reservation, as well as listen to CMs when you arrive at the restaurant. By doing that, the whole process should go smoothly.
We’ll continue to keep you posted on all kinds of Disney dining tips and updates, so stay tuned right here at AllEars for all the latest!
