The newest Disney Cruise Line ship — the Disney Destiny — sets sail on her maiden voyage later this year, on November 20th, 2025, and we’re exploring the ship!
This new ship will feature a first-of-its-kind theme: Onboard the Destiny, you’ll encounter heroes and villains alike from stories including The Lion King, Hercules, 101 Dalmatians, and more. And, we’re LIVE from a Disney Destiny preview — bringing you a FIRST LOOK at what the ship will have to offer!
The Disney Destiny is Disney Cruise Line’s seventh ship in the fleet and according to Disney, Imagineers were “inspired by the dynamic duality of every great Disney story when developing this new ship, where opposing forces of light and dark drive characters to rise to their purpose.”
This brand-new cruise ship features both heroes and villains, and we have already gotten a sneak peek at some of what we can experience onboard, including the first ever Lion King-themed restaurant along with a brand new experience at Worlds of Marvel featuring the Guardians of the Galaxy
Let’s take a look at what there is to EAT on this brand-new ship, the Disney Destiny!
Dining Overview
If you’re a fan of The Lion King, then you better buckle up, because the classic film is getting its own restaurant — Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King! This new dining experience will be the first of its kind, bringing “the iconic songs and legendary moments of the renowned animated classic to life for your family throughout dinner.”
Inspired by the “Auntie Edna” short film, Edna Mode’s lab has been turned into a confectionery on the Disney Destiny at Edna á la Mode. Her sewing equipment will be repurposed into devices that make sweet treats, and the menu will be filled with favorites like gelato, ice cream, cookies, candies, and specialty treats.
Just off of the Great Hall, you’ll find two casual walk-up cafes with a selection of coffee, tea, specialty beverages, and snacks — Cafe Megara and Cafe Merida. One will pay homage to Hercules with a “Greco disco” design, while the other will be Celtic-inspired to pay homage to Pixar’s Brave.
Get ready for this one, Pirates of the Caribbean fans. A lounge called Cask and Cannon is coming to the Destiny and it’s themed to the iconic ride!
The bar will feature an extensive menu of rare, specialty, and vintage rums, as well as “bootlegged” brews that will be developed exclusively for this spot. Better yet, they’ll be served straight from a barrel just like a pirate! Disney also noted that there will be live televised sporting events.
If you’re a hardcore Disney fan, you’ve probably seen 101 Dalmatians and maybe even the live-action Cruella. Now, you’ll be able to visit a lounge dedicated to the puppy-obsessed villain called De Vil’s on the Disney Destiny!
Disney announced that like its sister ship, the Disney Treasure, the Destiny will have a Haunted Mansion Parlor!

Reviews
Edna Á La Mode Sweets
We first tried the Edna Á La Mode Shortbread Cookie, which is a shortbread cookie with vanilla frosting, dulce de leche filling, and a chocolate decoration.
We love it!
Then we tried Violet’s Cupcake, whichis a purple velvet sponge cake with white chocolate mousse, purple mirror glaze, sprinkles, and chocolate decoration. The cake was moist and fluffy, and that mousse topping was delicious, and we loved that it wasn’t traditional icing.
White Chocolate Cupcake!
We also dived into Elastigirl’s Cupcake! It is an orange-almond cake with raspberry mousse, orange chocolate velvet finish, sprinkles, and topped with a chocolate decor piece.
So cute!
Sanctum Lounge
We also got to try the Vapors of Valtorr drink, which is available at the Doctor Strange-themed bar, the Sanctum Lounge.
Vapors of Valtorr – Grey Goose Altius Vodka, ginger beer, fresh lime juice, and butterfly pea flower syrup topped with berry-flavored bubbles (Kent Phillips, photographer)
This is made with Grey Goose Altius Vodka, ginger beer, fresh lime juice, and butterfly pea flower syrup, topped with berry-flavored bubbles. It’s like a fancy Moscow Mule! It was more subtle, and we loved the addition of lime and how gorgeous the drink is.
Lastly, we tried the Circle of Cosmos, which is served in an upside-down martini glass. This non-alcoholic drink contains Brunswick Ace’s Diamond Gin, verjus blanc, and fresh lemon juice, with a lemon peel spiral.
