Where do you draw the line when it comes to airport upgrades?

We often talk about FREE ways you can upgrade your travels when flying through Orlando International Airport (MCO), but did you know there are several paid upgrades as well? Such is the case with The Club at MCO, two lounges that offer a quiet place to relax, sip on drinks, and have a few bites. But are they worth buying passes for?
MCO offers The Club lounges at Airside 1 and Airside 4, with Airside 1 offering a “quiet space complemented by soft furnishings, warm colors and a selection of food and bar-served drinks,” and Airside 4 offering “a dedicated quiet space, or enjoy lively chat and freshly mixed cocktails at the bar. ” To visit either you’ll need to purchase a Club Pass for $50.

We asked YOU, our readers, whether or not you feel the price is worth it, and ya’ll had some thoughts.

One reader called the lounge “sketchy” but still said they would be renewing their pass. Reader John P. wrote, “That lounge is the winner of sketchiest – but my pass just got renewed today for 2028. So here we go!”
On the flip side, Reader John K. wrote, “TBH at that point I’m so over spending money on every little thing…”

As budgets get a bit tighter all around, it makes sense if you feel this is a luxury you can skip.
With that said, the airport experience (and passing time) can be miserable, so lounges like this can also be super justifiable.

Look at the type of airlines that use OIA as a hub, and it becomes easy to see why people wouldn’t want to spend an extra $50 on an airport experience.
Orlando in general is an almost entirely leisure-oriented city. The corporate types don’t travel here on all-expenses-paid outings. It’s mostly people traveling on a budget, often very tight ones — and OIA in large parts is a reflection of that behavior, as well.
