Disney+ CONFIRMS 2 New Policy Changes

With Moana 2 and Mufasa now on Disney+, we’ve been glued to our TVs, but Disney has made some quiet changes to its platform.

While these changes have already gone into effect for new subscribers, any prior subscribers may want to read the terms and services on their account.

New Disney+ changes go into effect on March 24th! Two big changes may affect your streaming experience. These rules began for any new subscribers on January 27th, 2025, but they are now in effect “for prior and existing subscribers.”

The first change is that you can now “pause” your subscription. This can be helpful when you’re waiting for a new season of your favorite show to air. Instead of canceling and resubscribing when the new season drops, you can pause your subscription and resume it when you’re ready to watch.

This change increases the number of accounts associated with Disney+ and provides a convenient factor for subscribers.

The second change is not so loved but says, “Certain titles and types of content include ads, even in our ‘no ads’ or ‘ad free’ subscription tiers.” We’re assuming this will apply to sports broadcasting, especially live events through ESPN.

While adding ads to streaming services has become increasingly popular, creating more subscription tiers and higher monthly payments, with live sports, there are required ad breaks for broadcasting.
