Something MAJOR Is Missing From Disney’s Latest Announcements

We recently got some big news from The Walt Disney Company during its Shareholders Meeting.

Main Street, U.S.A.

First, we learned that Disney and Pixar are working on a Coco sequel film. We also learned that Disney believes its domestic theme parks are doing well and feels that they have some ticket offers that appeal to visitors who want to spend less at the parks. We even got a sneak peek at a new Lion King ride coming to Disneyland Paris. However, right now, we’re more interested in what Disney did NOT announce, so let’s look at what was missing from today’s reveals.

Park Expansion News

Disney CEO Bog Iger briefly touched upon the park expansions that are happening in the U.S., but we didn’t get any new details about any of these expansions. We got nothing on the new lands and expansions coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, or Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

We also didn’t learn anything else about the new Coco ride, new Avatar land, or the Avengers Campus expansion in Disneyland. Disney did not mention any opening timelines or anything.

Succession

Disney CEO Bob Iger’s contract expires on December 31st, 2026, which is just over a year away. The company is searching for someone to be his successor, but there was no mention of that search or who might fill that role during the shareholders meeting.

Of course, Disney might have reason to remain mum on who that successor might be, and it’s likely that a name is already being considered.

Zootopia 2

The sequel to Zootopia is set to hit theaters later this year, so we might have expected some news to drop about that sequel. However, we got nothing from the shareholder meeting.

With the movie set to hit theaters so soon, we can probably expect a trailer to drop any day now, though.

We’ll be keeping an eye out for more big Disney news and announcements, so check back with AllEars again soon for more.
