The Orlando Airport reported significant flight cancelations the first weekend of March as Silver Airways unexpectedly canceled all flights arriving and departing from Orlando International Airport.

As of Sunday, March 2nd, Silver Airways canceled over a dozen flights at Orlando Airport without warning passengers.
On March 1st, there were 13 flight cancelations at Orlando Airport, and 11 were Silver Airways flights, according to FlightAware.

The cancelations continued on March 2nd, with an additional six Silver Airways flights taken off the schedule at Orlando Airport.

According to FlightAware‘s tracking service, Silver Airways flights all over Florida were canceled throughout the weekend, spanning from Key West to Pensacola.

At this time, Silver Airways has yet to release a statement about its unexpected flight cancelations. This news comes shortly after Silver Airways filed for bankruptcy, though at the time, the company promised tickets would remain valid, “and we will continue operating as usual.”

On December 30th, 2024, the airline released a statement informing customers that Silver Airways voluntarily filed for Chapter 11 protection in the United States Bankruptcy Court. The airline stated:
- All tickets remain valid, and we will continue operating as usual
- You can book flights with Silver through our website or any other channel
- United and JetBlue customers, including loyalty program members, will experience no disruptions to their bookings or services
- Tickets purchased through any other airline or agency will be honored

According to local Florida news outlet WFTV, “Aviation trade papers wrote this week that Silver was being forced to downsize its fleet amid backlash from the company that leased planes to the airline.”

As of Sunday, March 2nd, the Silver Airways website has not reported any changes to its schedule, though it seems like Orlando flights are currently unavailable.

We will continue to look for updates. In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest travel news, so stay tuned for more.
