A 90s Cult Classic Series Is Being REBOOTED on Hulu

Buffy Summers is headed back to our screens! Variety has shared that the once-in-a-generation Vampire Slayer is getting a reboot on Hulu and is nearing the green light for a pilot.

The original series follows Buffy Summers who is chosen who is the latest in a line of you women Vampire Slayers. Slayers are chosen by fate to battle against vampires, demons, and other forces of darkness, but Buffy just wants to live a normal life. According to Variety, the reboot would follow the next in the generation of slayers with Sarah Michelle Geller in final talks to return as Buffy Summers.

Sarah Michelle Geller wouldn’t be leading the show but would appear in a recurring role instead. Chloe Zhao is expected to direct and serve as an executive producer on the project. Zhao is an Academy Award-winning director and has previously worked with the Disney company directing Marvel’s Eternals.

There are many names attached to serve as executive producers but one name that caught our eye is Dolly Parton who will executive produce through her production company Sandollar. 20th Television and Searchlight Television will produce the series. Parton was also one of the executive producers of the original series!

The horror show ran for 7 seasons before getting a spin-off called Angel which ran for an additional 5 seasons. If this series movies forward, this will be the latest in a lineup of several series reboots including Daredevil, Holes, The Fantastic Four, and even Freaky Friday.
