Driving in Disney World Is Going to Get MORE Difficult Next Month

Do you drive to Disney World? Do you rent a car to drive from the airport to Disney World?

Whatever the case, you’ve probably already learned a little bit about driving in and around Orlando, including learning about things like paying tolls and the best way to get around the resort. However, if you’re visiting during a certain weekend in February 2025, driving around Disney World could be a little more complicated if you’re not prepared.

The Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend runDisney event happens on February 20th through 24th. During the races, various roads around Disney World will be closed, which means getting around the resort might be a little trickier than normal.

The good news is that these closures usually only last until around 10AM, but if you’re trying to drive earlier in the morning to make rope drop at a park, you might have to take the long way around because of road closures. If you are driving, it’s recommended that you give yourself extra time to get to where you’re going.

This could also affect Disney World’s bus transportation, as it will also have to take alternate routes to get to and from the parks — be sure to be at the bus stop earlier than usual if you want to make rope drop. However, Disney World’s buses might still be a better option than driving as the drivers already know their way around the road closures. Of course, the Monorail, boats, and the Skyliner will not be impacted by the road closures.
