Disney Releases Brand New Park Map in Magic Kingdom

There are so many changes happening in Disney World!

Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom

Dinosland U.S.A. is close to extinction, Big Thumber Mountain is closed for at least a year, and there are new attractions coming in 2025! One little change is already here and we found it in Magic Kingdom!

Magic Kingdom is ready for change and this one is going to greet you as soon as you make it into the park! This is a small change but it’s one that matters to us. Starting today, January 6th, we found a brand new park map in Magic Kingdom!

The new park map!

The new map features the water tower in front of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure on a beautiful dusk evening. The previous map was the drop on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure during the day so not too many changes here.

On the inside is where we found the change we were most excited (or sad) about! The map inside and the list of attractions by land have all remained the same but the biggest thing to note is in Frontierland.

A look inside!

In case you missed it, Big Thunder Mountain is closed starting January 6th and it isn’t clear when it will be reopening yet. We do know it will be closed for at least a year and now the Magic Kingdom map is letting you know.

A closer look!

The map lists the wildest ride in the wilderness as “temporarily closed for refurbishment” letting anyone who might not know that the attraction isn’t available. Frontierland is about to undergo a huge transformation, part of which has already happened.

Frontierland

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened in June 2024 and Country Bear Musical Jamboree reopened the following month. These openings were just the beginning of the Frontierland reimagining with a new Cars area in the works to replace Tom Sawyer Island.

Coming to Frontierland at Magic Kingdom, a new area themed to Pixar Animation Studios’ “Cars” will leave Radiator Springs and head to the wilderness with two new attractions including an off-road race.

So while there might not be any major changes to the map itself, these changes are just a scratch on the surface of what’s to come! Don’t forget to keep following AllEars.Net for more Disney news and updates.
