Airports are seeing TONS of people come through as they fly home or to some other destination. If you’re traveling over the next few days, it’s a good idea to get to the airport early and to keep up with notifications about your trip, as massive delays are hitting Orlando International Airport today, December 28th!

UPDATE: As of 12:45PM on Sunday, December 29th, MORE flight delays have hit MCO Airport. A total of 400 flights have been delayed at the airport today alone, and 23 flights have been canceled. These delays may be the result of terrible weather in the South, specifically Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, as tornadoes have ripped through the areas Thursday and Friday and are expected to continue today, according to NBC News. Yesterday, a ground stop was issued at the Dallas and Houston airports due to this weather, according to MSN News.

Unfortunately, flights aren’t the only form of transportation seeing delays today. Brightline, the high-speed train that services South Florida and Orlando, has also notified passengers of limited delays happening for some of its trains.

These impacts to travel on one of the busiest travel weekends of the year are good reasons for getting notifications to your phone or email for your transportation plans. Whether you use an airline’s app, Brightline’s app, or check websites, continuing to monitor any changes to your plans is necessary as your fly and travel in any other form.

Don’t forget to check your flight status frequently!

Unfortunately, delays are occurring at Orlando International Airport and at Brightline on one of the busiest travel days of the year. Keep checking the status of your travel plans in case you are impacted by delays or cancelations.
