It’s almost time for the new year!

Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom

When it comes to crowds in Disney World, they are pretty common. They aren’t always avoidable but we do know how to handle them thanks to our Disney World planning guide. 2025 is gearing up to be a crowded one with some Magic Kingdom days already sold out.

If you’re headed to Disney in January, we hope you have your tickets already! The new year is kicking off strong in Magic Kingdom with January 1st, 2nd, and 3rd all sold out!

It’s no surprise to us that the OG park is sold out for the first few days in the New Year. This tends to be one of the busiest times of the year as people wrap up their holiday and New Year celebrations.

Previous New Year’s Eve Crowds

This is the time that people flock to Disney to grab the last few days of holiday cheer and enjoy the special treats, fireworks, and DJ parties.

It’s important to note that if you have a Park Hopper option on your ticket, you can make a Park Pass for a different park and then hop to Magic Kingdom. The only time this won’t work is if Magic Kingdom has hit capacity — it’s rare, but it happens.

Disney World tickets

When it comes to needing reservations, only annual pass holders and non-date-based tickets need a theme park reservation right now. So if you bought a Disney vacation package or just theme park tickets, and told Disney what dates you’ll be visiting, you should be good to go.

If you’re an Incredi Pass pass holder, you should still be able to get into Magic Kingdom in January 2025. Don’t wait forever though, these reservation spots can fill up quickly.

Main Street holiday crowds

If you’re looking to avoid crowds, the holidays might not be your best time to visit but we think it’s worth it to see the beautiful decor and try all the special snacks! Don’t forget to keep following AllEars.Net for more Disney crowd updates.
