Disney World dining, is there anything like it?
I mean with over 200 restaurants, you really have your choice of pick. Whether you want small plates, hot plates, tiny bites, or full-on Thanksgiving dinners, you can find just about anything at Disney World. Now, that’s all well and good but we were wondering were there any restaurants on the Disney World property weren’t just hitting like they used to. So we thought we’d reach out to you and get your takes.
We reached out to our followers on Facebook and Instagram to ask: “What’s a Disney World restaurant that just needs to GO in your opinion?” We had quite a few people leave their opinions in the comments!
Now, let’s go over some of your top responses!
Crystal Palace
First up, our reader Mandy didn’t mince words when she said, “Not go completely, but a complete menu overhaul. Crystal Palace.”
While this iconic spot with its whimsical Winnie the Pooh character dining might seem untouchable, it’s clear that for some of you, the food isn’t hitting the highest of Disney World highs. A menu revamp could help it go from “meh” to magical because Pooh deserves better than that, don’t you think?

Liberty Tree Tavern
Next up, Mat shared, “Definitely Liberty Tree, it’s got a good history behind it but the menu has been the same for years. Haven’t been back since my last trip very disappointing.”
Liberty Tree Tavern definitely leans hard into its colonial charm, but if the menu feels like it’s been around since 1776, it might be time to freshen things up. Nostalgia can only carry you so far, especially when folks are dropping major cash for their Disney dining experiences.

Coral Reef
This one had a lot of you feeling some type of way. For example, Kayden didn’t hesitate when they said, “Coral Reef for sure.” And Chris echoed that sentiment with, “Coral Reef needs a complete reimagining.” Diane added, “I don’t know if Coral Reef needs to go, but it definitely needs a facelift.”
For starters, Coral Reef is unique with its massive aquarium views, but if the ambiance is the only thing keeping people coming back, something’s gotta give. A reimagining could turn this into the underwater dining dream it’s supposed to be.

Tony’s Town Square
Quite a few of you called this one out too. For example, Lisa, Narda, and Kelly all said, “Tony’s Town Square!”
Tony’s has long been a point of contention for Disney foodies. Inspired by Lady and the Tramp, it should ooze Italian charm, but many find the food to be underwhelming at best. Maybe it’s time for a new concept altogether or at least some top-tier Italian recipes that Mama would actually approve of. We will say, a few of the menu additions, like the large mozzarella sticks that were added earlier this year are very welcome and delicious additions to the menu!

Woody’s Roundup Rodeo BBQ
For this one, Kristen got straight to the point: “Woody’s Roundup is way too much money for what the food is in my opinion.”
This newer addition to Disney’s Hollywood Studios definitely promised a rootin’-tootin’ good time, but if the cost doesn’t match the quality, it’s pretty hard to justify a visit. Disney could take this as an opportunity to rope in more variety or lower those sky-high prices!

50’s Prime Time Cafe
With this last one, George didn’t hold back: “For me, 50’s Prime Time can go away. The food is decent, but I can live without the ‘we’re family’ idiocy.”
If you’ve never been there, just know that this retro dining spot is all about the kitschy, playful vibe where “Mom” scolds you for not eating your vegetables. While some guests adore the experience, it’s clear the charm doesn’t work for everyone especially when the food is just “decent.”

What’s a Disney World restaurant, in your opinion, that just needs to go? Tell us all about it down in the comments!
Only restaurant that was a one and done for us was The Plaza.
Sorry. 50’s Prime Time is my favorite restaurant at the Studios. I hope it doesn’t go anywhere.
We have been to all of these all but one never again ! The bbq was very very disappointing ! The worst !
The only one we loved was liberty tree tavern ! Food was awesome service was brilliant and good value for money based on wdw other restaurant costs !!! I’d go every time !
The others never again !
We like five of them and the only one we don’t is the bbq. Place which we haven’t eaten at yet.
The fact that Sanaa is on the list just invalidates the entire list 😂
Agreed. Not a one of them should go.
I don’t think Sanaa is on the list. It was an identified picture.
Y’all better shut your face about Liberty Tree and 50’s!
The Round Up was awesome! Decor and staff. The only negative is I wish we got to have our own of the dessert we wanted. They just brought us a mix and I only preferred one of them and had to share lol. I love love love comfort food and thanksgiving meals. Liberty tree tavern is absolutely amazing in my opinion and I would be so sad to see them go. Maybe spruce up the decor there though.
Most of the food at the Disney World parks is not all that good. The quality over the years has gone down while the prices rise. The food at Disneyland is much better. Is the low quality food at Disney World due to the number guests? Who knows but my family and I no longer go to the restaurants because you can get a better meal outside of the park. Eat at Disney Springs or one of the other many restaurants. Only eat at the parks for the character experience not the food itself.
Everyone has their own opinion. But mine is, if you don’t like a place to eat, don’t go there. Alot of the places you mentioned I enjoy and I sure I could make my own list and there would be places I don’t go to that are on your must eat at.
Crazy with Sanna and Woody’s Roundup…both are amazing and they both have some of the best bread items at Disney.
I’d like to know what these people are thinking. Let’s start with Liberty Tree tavern. Maybe the menu has been around since 1776 but what’s on the menu is what they ate in those days. As for Tony’s Town Square the menu is what was in Lady and the Tramp. 50’s Prime Time once again throw back to dinner at home during the 50’s. For those of you who can’t figure it out it’s called theme dining. Most of us love the themes of the restaurants. We don’t come to Disney to eat at chain food restaurants that have the same decor in EVERY one of the restaurants. If you don’t like what these restaurants look like or serve don’t eat there. There are a ton of restaurants in the parks you can go to. Changing things because you aren’t happy makes about as much sense as taking Cinderella out of her castle because she’s been there since it opened.
Leave the liberty tavern alone! lol. It is literally themed as 1776 why would you change the food?! The food is actually really good, cooked great and really enjoyable. I was super disappointed that I couldn’t get reservations for this time. And BTW – look at their rating. Same with 50s dinner. Good rating for Disney restaurant.
Liberty Tree tavern may be a heavy meal to eat midday in a theme park, but the pot roast was really good. All the food was tasty- just wish there was a light plate lunch option, I was there with just my grandchild and we left so much food behind- too much food waste, at least for me. And I told them to just bring meal for one, dessert for 2- and told them I knew I had to pay for 2, even though I only wanted food for one. It was still too much
Definitely Coral Reef. Not everyone gets to ‘enjoy’ the aquarium aspect, especially individuals using a wheelchair. We get stuck on the top level because of accessibility and the food is okay at best.
To me the magic isn’t as magical as it was from early beginnings and they are all more interested in the money not the guest..we have had season pases for over 25 years..even the atmosphere is not the same..We live in Florida and now with handicapped grampa it’s harder to drop him off anywhere and get him into the park and Disney Springs he could never do. There are 20 in the immediate family and we are Florida residents..and it is hard not to be a complete family with out Grampa. I will need to agree about all the restaurants..it was really when they had mickey butters etc..the kids who are adults now in their 40s loved it ..even the landscape was magical when you drove in.
Disney needs to start thinking outside the box and truly make it a magical day everywhere you visit!!
I go to Disney often and 1/2 of your list are go to resturants for us. It’s more about the atmosphere and experience.
Why do I think this person must like what they’ve done to Epcot. Remove all unique and replace it with bland.
50’s Prime Time Cafe is an all-time favorite of my family’s! Don’t change a thing!!!
Exactly! For those that don’t care for the antics, they could literally go to ANY other Disney World restaurant (with the exception of Whispering Canyon, of course).
I totally disagree with you other than Tony’s . I haven’t tried Woodys so I can’t make a judgement call there. All the others are basically my favorites. Love Liberty during the holidays and the 50’s Prime time can always be counted on for a good time. I love the buffet at Crystal Palace. I go often to these as I am a season passholder.
Love these places. Maybe old to you but to someone new they are awesome.
The first time we went to WDW about thirty years ago we went to Coral Reef and were lucky to get seated right at the fish window. The last time we went a few years ago we sat further back which was not bad but the food was not good, will not eat there again
I disagree with prime time. If you don’t like to be fooled with don’t go. In my opinion it’s a fun restaurant where you can get a reasonable priced good meal
So basically we need to take one of the remaining fun theming aspects of wdw and turn these restaurants into nothing more than an Olive Garden or Chili’s?
I disagree with Woody’s Round Up BBQ. It’s $49 for all you can eat bbq. That’s the cheapest you’re going to get for all you can eat at Disney. I actually like the food. And I’m a BBQ snob from GA. Way better than any of the other choices.
Yes love Woody’s, went there with our granddaughter and her parents and had a great time.
