It is hard to believe that 2024 is starting to wind down, and it is time to start thinking about your 2025 Disney World plans.
There are so many changes and new experiences coming to Disney World in 2025! It was confirmed that next year, the Spaceship Earth Lounge and Test Track 3.0 in EPCOT, the Pirates of the Caribbean Lounge in Magic Kingdom, and Zootopia: Better Zoogether in Animal Kingdom will all open. Plus, the free water park perk starts for Disney World hotel guests! If you want to experience all these new and exciting offerings, you may want to think about booking your trip to Disney World soon, as there will be quite a few dates that will be difficult to book next year.
Planning a Disney World vacation involves a lot, including park tickets, hotel reservations, and Advance Dining Reservations. If you do not book these things early enough, it may be hard to find reservations during the following dates throughout 2025.
New Year’s Day
January 1st at Disney World tends to be crowded as most schools are still on holiday break. Plus, we can’t think of a better way to ring in the New Year than at Disney World! Since this date is the closest to today, bookings will be pretty full, so if you are trying to visit Disney World on New Year’s Day, you need to figure out your travel plans ASAP!
Marathon Weekend (January 8th-12th)
runDisney hosts different races at Disney World each year. The first race of the year is Marathon Weekend. This will take place from January 8th to the 12th, and runners and their families will flock to Disney World. Due to this, you can expect it to be tough to book certain hotel rooms and make dining reservations. You can also plan on road closures in the early morning hours to accommodate runners running throughout the resort.
Princess Half Marathon Weekend (February 20th-24th)
Just like Marathon Weekend, the Princess Half Marathon will be a crowded weekend at Disney World. From February 20th to the 24th, you can expect bigger crowds and certain road closures during race mornings. If you are planning on participating in the race or cheering on a loved one, we highly suggest figuring out your plans NOW!
Spring Break (Mid March to the End of April)
All schools have different spring breaks, but they tend to take place between the middle of March and the end of April.
This is when the busy season really starts to pick up again at Disney World, so if you and your family have time off during these months, you will want to make sure you have all your plans in order, as Disney World is a super popular destination for spring break.
Springtime Surprise Weekend (April 3rd to the 6th)
To add to the spring break crowds, the runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend takes place from April 3rd to the 6th.
This race weekend, mixed with spring break crowds, can mean that bookings and reservations during this time of year can be sparse, so make sure to book ahead if you are planning to visit during April.
Easter (April 20th)
While Easter does fall into the spring break time frame, it is still important to point out that there is a special offering in Magic Kingdom that is only done once a year.
Each year, Magic Kingdom hosts an Easter parade with special characters and floats. Since it only happens once a year, many people flock to Magic Kingdom to see the parade. If you want to experience this limited offering, make sure to get your park tickets/park reservations in order.
Memorial Day
While crowds tend to die down after Spring Break, Memorial Day marks the start of the summer season at Disney World, as many schools start their summer break shortly after the holiday. Plus, Memorial Day makes it a three-day weekend, which is perfect for a quick getaway to Disney World.
3rd and the 4th of July
Disney World is so popular during the Fourth of July that it spends two days celebrating the holiday. Magic Kingdom has fireworks on July 3rd and 4th, and EPCOT has a special “Heartbeat of Freedom” fireworks show following Luminous on July 4th. While these fireworks shows have not been confirmed for this year, this has been the case in the past.
Hotels and restaurants with views of fireworks will be the first to book up. If you want to be in the parks for these special fireworks displays, make sure to check your date-based park tickets or make park pass reservations, as they will fill up fast!
Labor Day
As summer draws to a close, many people will head to Disney World for last-minute vacations over the long weekend. If you think you may beat the crowds by waiting until the end of the summer, you may be surprised to find that many reservations have already been made. So make sure to plan!
Thanksgiving Week
As we said, crowds in Disney World really do reflect holidays, and many schools get the time off. Thanksgiving week is super popular, as the parks are decorated for the holidays, and the holiday party season kicks off. Trust us, the holiday season is not one you want to wait to book a last-minute vacation for!
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
Just as before, winter break starts for schools, and many people choose to spend their holiday break at Disney World. People want to explore and experience everything that Disney World has to experience during the holiday season before it disappears until the following year.
If you want to experience the Christmas season at Disney World, you should start planning ASAP to guarantee you get your first choice of reservations.
New Year’s Eve
We have reached the end of the year! New Year’s Eve is extremely popular at Disney World as both Magic Kingdom and EPCOT have New Year’s Eve parties. Plus, Magic Kingdom’s New Year’s Eve fireworks are not to be missed!
Just like on the Fourth of July, restaurants and hotels with fireworks views will be the first reservations to go.
There is so much to look forward to at Disney World in 2025, and if you want to experience it all, make sure to start planning your trip now!
