I’m tired of seeing you make a critical mistake day after day, and I’m here to help you out!

The temperature is starting to turn, Universal has announced its upcoming holiday festivities, and we’re winding down the end of another fabulous Halloween Horror Nights season. Which means it’s the perfect time for me to teach you this sneaky hack for Butterbeer when visiting the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!
Alright — listen up, because this is a hack I almost NEVER give out but, since we’re good friends and all at this point, I’m letting you in on one of my closest kept secrets. Arguably one of the best snacks you’ll seek inside Universal’s Harry Potter lands is some form of Butterbeer.

Ah, Butterbeer — let me count the ways I love you. Cold, frozen, fudge, in an ice lolly, as an ice cream scoop, potted cream, soft serve ice cream… but my favorite of all is when it’s served hot! Just something about its creamy butterscotch flavor warmed and that delicious cream foam floating on top makes me weak in the knees.

I’m also a fairly impatient person when it comes to food and snacks, and when I’ve got a craving, I’m not typically keen to grab it if I have to stand in a super long line for it. I see this day in and day out with every visit I make to Universal! Don’t believe me? Just take a glance at The Hopping Pot or The Three Broomstick’s lines next time you’re visiting.

But I’ve got a work around for those long lines! Rather than having to wait in a line that could switch back for ages, changing your perspective a bit pays off in a big way. When I’m passing through Hogsmeade, I don’t bother with waiting out by the front carts or standing in line at The Three Broomsticks — instead, I head straight for the bar.

I know what you’re thinking, “did she just say what I think she said?” Yes — yes I did. Hog’s Head is the resident bar in Hogsmeade and it shares a side of its establishment with The Three Broomsticks. Most of the time, the line for Hog’s Head is significantly shorter (and indoors keeping you out of the elements), and they serve several kinds of Butterbeer inside — not just alcoholic drinks and beer!

The prices will be the same as what you would have ordered from the carts outside or the neighboring restaurant, but they serve cold and hot Butterbeer options and some offerings will even allow for it to be put into a souvenir stein if you prefer.

So there you have it! That’s my hack to getting my beloved Butterbeer in the fastest way possible. This gives me back so much time to stop and see the TriWizard Spirit Rally or Frog Choir, cast a few spells in the window, or shop ’til I drop while I’m visiting.
I love when the temperature drops down a bit here in Orlando and we’re able to experience a little bit of “sweater weather” in the Universal parks.
