If you’re looking for this year’s upcoming Grammys presentation, you may find yourself flipping through the channels to track down the show.

Streaming services are changing the way we watch television thanks to the addition of live sports betting, new direct-to-streaming series, and even teaming up to offer customers more value than ever before. Disney+ seems to be no exception to all of this, and The Walt Disney Company just struck a new deal to offer something NEW on ABC.
Disney has just made a move that will lead to some big changes. The Grammys, which have previously aired on CBS (another media giant) for the last 50 years, will have a new home with The Walt Disney Company.

According to Deadline, Disney just struck a deal, winning the rights to air the immensely popular Grammys annual music awards show over the next decade, starting in 2027. This means you’ll be able to watch the Grammys from multiple platforms, including ABC, Hulu, and Disney+, until 2036. It seems that CBS and The Recording Academy could not reach an agreement, and when The Academy opened negotiations with other parties, Disney was the company that ended up submitting the winning bid.

In 2016, CBS’s 10-year deal to continue being the home of the Grammys broke the record for the longest broadcast partnership between an awards show and broadcaster. They’ve exclusively aired the show since 1973, when they were able to snatch up the rights from its previous home with ABC for a short stint. The 67th Grammys is set to air live on February 2nd and will be the last year under the 10-year CBS deal.

This means that Disney will be the parent company that airs The Grammys, The Oscars, and the Super Bowl when this new deal takes effect. To add to its list of live entertainment and award shows, Disney also currently retains the rights to air The CMA Awards and Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.

Disney entertainment co-chairman Dana Walden expressed that this is an “exciting new chapter in the history of The Grammys” and added that looking ahead to the partnership, “we do so with pride and gratitude.” She went on to state that acquiring the rights to one of the most-watched live events adds to the company’s “portfolio of world-class programming,” appealing to multiple genres. And it seems the Academy also echoed similar sentiments. In a statement made by Harvey Mason Jr. (Recording Academy CEO), he continued they are “…honored to be joining with Disney, an iconic company where creators have always been at the forefront.”
