Halloween Horror Nights has officially started at Universal Orlando.
This speciality-ticketed after-hours event offers shorter wait times at certain attractions, limited capacity, exclusive-themed food, and, of course, 10 different themed haunted houses and five scare zones. When we visited, we went through all 10, and here is our official ranking of the 2024 Halloween Horror Nights houses at Universal Orlando.
Halloween Horror Nights run on select nights between August 30th and November 3rd. Here is a rundown of all the houses you can explore during the event and which were our favorites. Or you can watch Quincy go inside all of the houses right here!
Eternal Bloodlines — 8/10
This house is a first-of-its-kind all-female Universal Monsters house. Universal said that guests will “Get caught in an epic battle as Saskia Van Helsing and the Bride of Frankenstein go up against Dracula’s daughter and her monstrous mavens.”
Quincy has been obsessed with Dracula and this house features Dracula’s daughter, so she had high hopes! While it wasn’t as scary as some of the others, but it had a fantastic storyline to follow. Sometimes haunted house stories are hard to follow, but this one was super clear.
Insidious: The Further — 10/10
Insidious got its own house at this year’s event where you “Enter The Further as demons try to ensnare you.” Also, “The Red-Faced Demon will lure you into his lair. KeyFace will unlock your fears.”
Usually the RIP tour guide at Horror Nights answers “What’s the scariest house?” with “It depends.” Well, not this year. In 2024, Insidious is said to be the scariest house by just about everyone…and we agree! Quincy said this was hands down the scariest house she has ever done at HHN. And that’s saying something!
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire — 7/10
Here’s how Universal describes the house: “A bone-chilling new specter, Garraka, has escaped from an ancient artifact. He’ll stop you cold with a whole army of ghosts. Try not to freeze in fear as you dodge spears of ice and he freezes people solid before your eyes. The Ghostbusters must team up to save the world from a second Ice Age.”
For anyone braving the event this year mostly to see this house…don’t worry! This house was one of the tamer ones when it comes to scare factor and had all of the Ghostbusters vibes you would expect. Beware — it was COLD in there (as it should be!).
A Quiet Place — 6/10
Universal says: “Make a sound and you won’t last long. Monstrous creatures who can hear the slightest noise will hunt you down and silence you for good as the post-apocalyptic world comes to terrifying life.”
This is such a challenging house because the enter premise of the film is to be quiet…however, Universal pulled it off as usual! It wasn’t our favorite, but it was nice to recognize some things from the movies.
Triplets of Terror — 7/10
The Barmy Triplets are having a birthday bash, and you’ve been invited. However, they celebrate by recreating their family’s murders, so needless to say, the gathering will be gory.
Quincy was surprised at how scary this one was! She wasn’t a huge fan of the vibes, but the scare factor was definitely there. It just wasn’t as charming as some of the other houses!
Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America — 9/10
Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America will also make its debut at Halloween Horror Nights this year. This experience will have you guided by La Muerta.
After debuting in Hollywood, this popular house made its way to Orlando for 2024. And we’re glad it did! It had so many large creatures and sets that really took you into the story. Quincy was surprised by the punch this house packed!
The Museum: Deadly Exhibits — 6/10
Visit the new folklore museum exhibit, appropriately named, The Rotting Stone. Of course, something goes wrong during your visit.
Quincy enjoyed this house! The only complaint was that there is some dead space where not much is going on.
Major Sweets Candy Factory — 5/10
Visiting the Major Sweets Candy Factory might sound like a dream come true, but this is one field trip you might wish you hadn’t chaperoned.
There was a nice chocolate smell and Quincy experienced a few good jump scares throughout the house. It wasn’t overly scary — mostly fun!
Goblin’s Feast — 8/10
Stop for a while at the Goblin’s Feast Tavern and visit a goblin village where a huge and lavish feast is being prepared for goblins, orcs, hobgoblins, and witches.
In the words of Quincy, “That rocked!” It was scarier than Eternal Bloodlines but still not too scary. It was very lively and there was always something to look at! The screens and larger-than-life props elevated it to the next level.
Slaughter Sinema 2 — 10/10
It’s time for a B-movie horror marathon at the Carey Drive-In. You’ll be able to scream your way “through scenes from creature features, grindhouse gore, spaghetti westerns, and more.”
This one was the best of both worlds — scary AND hilarious! It felt like the house would never end (in a good way) and Quincy couldn’t think of another house in recent years that was as spectacular as this one!
We loved getting scared at all of these houses and honestly it was hard for us to rank them. Keep following along with AllEars.net for more news about Halloween Horror Nights!

The queues were horrendous. Two hours for some houses.
