When Does the New Universal Park Open?

With the excitement ramping up for the new park, Epic Universe, at Universal Orlando, we know you want to know when will it open?!

After all, this will be Universal Orlando’s third theme park and it will bring a total of five new themed lands to the resort, as well as three new hotels.

However, before you get TOO excited about Epic Universe, we’ve got to bring you back down to reality.

Yes, we’re going to have to temper our joy at Epic Universe a little bit because we do have some concerns about the new park and its opening. So, let’s take a look at the timeline.

Epic Universe Timeline

All we truly know right now is that Epic Universe will open in 2025.

But a recent clue was released in a vacation offer deal for Universal Orlando. The offer is for travel between November 7th, 2024-December 19th, 2024, and January 5th, 2025 through April 10th, 2025. So, it’s likely Universal won’t need an offer once Epic Universe opens, so Epic Universe is likely to open sometime after April 10th, 2025.

What dates do we know? Well, two Epic Universe hotels will be opening ahead of the new park. Universal Stella Nova Resort is set to open on January 21st, 2025, while Universal Terra Nova Resort is set to open on February 25th. Meanwhile, the in-park hotel, Universal Grand Helios Hotel, just has an opening timeline of 2025 (we’re guessing it will open closer to Epic Universe’s opening).

The New Lands at Epic Universe

While we gear up for the big opening, let’s review all five lands the park will contain, including Celestial Park, How To Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk, Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe, and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic.

Celestial Park

Have you heard about Celestial Park?! Universal shared, “As soon as guests enter the imaginative world, they’ll embark on a journey of discovery, thrills and excitement as they wander through lush living gardens nestled along shimmering waters surrounded by stunning architecture inspired by astronomical and mythological elements.”

This is also the “gateway” to the four additional worlds of the park!

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic

Get ready to discover a “different era” of the wizarding world in this all-new land blending 1920s wizarding Paris from Fantastic Beasts along with the iconic British Ministry of Magic from Harry Potter.

Dark Universe

Experience this spooky land while experiencing Dr. Victoria Frankenstein’s experiments. This is shadowy place is “where monsters roam in a world of myth and mystery.”

How To Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk

Are you ready to soar with dragons in this colorful world on the Isle of Berk? Based on the How to Train Your Dragon franchise, you’ll discover Viking adventures in this new land.

Super Nintendo World

Enter Super Nintendo World through an iconic green pipe to discover a new way to play along with Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Donkey Kong.

So Epic Universe will open sometime in 2025. It might be best to wait to visit it after some of its popularity dies down. However, if you do plan on visiting it shortly after opening, we’re hoping this helps you start to prepare for your 2025 visit!Check back with AllEars again soon for more.
