REVIEW: Forget EPCOT. We’re Eating at This BRAND-NEW Hotel Snack Spot Instead!

We hope you’re hungry because this news will have you running out for a crisp, golden corn dog!

Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs

We’ve been watching the construction progress of Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs practically since before it was announced. While this snack stand seemed to take its time setting up at its new home on the East Coast, it appears our obsessive detective skills have proven fruitful as it’s finally OPEN!

We have been waiting for the day we could smell the wafting scents from the Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs stand, and it seems that day has finally arrived! We’ve been watching this place constantly for months, and we’re finally getting our first taste of these beauties out in their new home at Disney World!

Corn dogs!

This opening marks the first of its kind for Disney World, and up until now, we’ve only been able to get our Blue Ribbon Corn Dog goodness on over in Disneyland! These snacks have become almost synonymous with Disneyland Park, so you have to know there was thunderous applause from Disney World visitors when this new restaurant was announced!

Here’s a look at what Blue Ribbon Corn Dog is offering at the time of opening.

Menu

So far, they’re prepared to introduce a few gourmet corn dogs like the (iconic) Pickle Dog, Mexican Street Dog, and Golden Dragon. There are also a few plain options, like a Classic Dog and a Kid’s Dog. For drinks, you’ll have an option of Strawberry and plain Lemonade, and they’re offering some fluffy cotton candy in pink vanilla and pineapple flavors if you’re feeling fancy! You’ll also have the option to make these a meal with drinks and chips for a combo price.

To kick off our first EVER Blue Ribbon Corn Dog experience at Disney World, we decided to order the Mexican Street Dog, Pickle Dog, and lemonades in both lemon and strawberry flavors!

Corn dogs for everyone!

When we ordered, we were given a buzzer that would tell us when it was our turn to pick up our order from the window.

We’ve ordered!

As a reminder, you’ll place your order on one side…

We started our journey off with the Mexican Street Dog. This beauty comes as a corn dog made of jalapeño cheddar sausage, fried in cornmeal batter. It’s then topped with garlic mayo, corn kernels, cotija cheese, and cilantro. Finally, it’s garnished with a lime wedge and served with a bag of chips for $15.50!

Mexican Street Dog

This corn dog is such a unique twist to a plain corn dog we know and love, yet it is still very authentic to what an elote is! The cotija cheese, the mayo ( the flavor of the mayo was accented by the garlic), and the corn kernels give it an authentic vibe.

Inside cut

The interesting thing about this one is that the meat is made with sausage & jalapeños, so it’s not just a regular corn dog with unique toppings. When we tasted it, we felt like all the ingredients mixed together to build a fantastic combination! The corn dog comes with a side of lime, so we definitely recommend squeezing that over the corn dog and letting those juices flow down the side. Watch out, though, because this one does have quite a kick to it, so it might not be the best option for someone who doesn’t enjoy hotter spices or can’t tolerate much of it altogether.

Then we turned our attention to a classic — the Pickle Dog! It’s made of an all-beef hot dog wrapped in a dill pickle that’s then fried in cornmeal batter, rolled in panko bread crumbs, and finally served with peanut butter and a bag of chips also for $15.50.

Pickle Dog

To say we were excited to try this one out at Disney World may be the understatement of the year. We’re even more ecstatic to report it was truly worth the wait! We were concerned that we might not love it as much as we do the one in Disneyland,  but thankfully, that wasn’t the case! The pickle was more refreshing than tangy, and the hot dog meat was delicious. Together, they make a very fun pairing, and we’re not ashamed to admit we felt like a kid while eating this.

Inside the Pickle Dog

The batter is perfectly crispy thanks to the panko bread crumbs, and you can taste the freshness!

We needed something to wash it all down, so when we found ourselves having a hard time choosing between the drink options, we figured, “Why not both?!” So we ordered the Hibiscus Agave Lemonade…

Lemon and Strawberry Lemonades

…and the Raspberry Apricot flavors in a regular size for $8.

Such a welcomed sight on a hot day

Overall, any hesitations we had about Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs faded with our first bite, and we’re so glad to have another chance to snag such great snacks without having to go so far away!

  1. Finally, one of the two new Boardwalk eateries is open! But what about the other one, the Cake Bake Shop? I got an e-mail TODAY stating that they are now accepting Wedding Cake orders at both their central Indiana AND their central Florida locations. Yippee! Could this mean their opening is not too far behind?
