Why Every Disney Adult Will Be Staying Up LATE on August 10th

So, D23 is coming up (no, seriously it’s almost here)!

This ultimate fan event is going to be chock-full of offerings like exhibitions, showcases, and panels that cover all kinds of Disney topics we’re so excited to know about. The event runs for three days and if you’re a Disney adult (heck, even if you just like Disney), you’ve got to be ready for the second day, August 10th because that’s when the “magic” is going to happen. Let’s talk about it!

First up, as we said, the D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event is taking place from August 9th to 11th this year in Anaheim, CA. There are going to be so many announcements, news, presentations, and more. We’re so stoked for the event and can’t wait to bring you all the updates. Check out the full schedule for the event here:

FULL SCHEDULE Revealed for Disney’s BIGGEST Fan Event of the Year!

Again, to be sure, we’re pumped about the entire event, but we are beyond excited for one specific moment. We’re talking about the parks panel that’s happening on Saturday, August 10th, at 7PM — the Disney Experiences Showcase at the Honda Center.

To be honest, this is where most of the biggest news about Disney World, Disneyland, and the international Disney parks will be dropped.

In the past, we’ve heard some bombshells like Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the Beyond the Big Thunder expansion, the DinoLand U.S.A. retheme, and more.

That means, it’s pretty safe to say that we’ll probably see some major announcements happen during this panel.

So what can we expect this year? Hopefully, we’ll get another round of updates on their expansion plans, so updates on Beyond Big Thunder at Magic Kingdom and the Tropical Americas land at Animal Kingdom. I mean, these things don’t build themselves, so we’ll be ready for more info on them.

Now, it’s time to put on our speculating caps. They could drop something from left field like a new Avatar land or a Toy Story expansion. (Not saying they will, just that they could drop something completely unexpected.)

So, should stay up late for this? Absolutely, because the parks panel is really where the Imagineers’ dreams become plans. Also, the anticipation, the surprise reveals, the fan reactions — it’s all part of the fun and magic. Plus, there’s just something special about experiencing these announcements in real time with fellow Disney lovers around the globe.

• Wear your most comfy pajamas.
• Have your phones handy to share your excitement.
