A Popular Amazon TV Show Will End with Its Fifth Season

No sting hurts quite as badly as having one of your favorite television shows be canceled far too soon.

We’ve seen it happening more and more lately, with Disney+ and ABC series ending despite having somewhat solid followings — though some are later picked up by other networks! It looks like another multi-season series will be ending soon on Amazon Prime, but maybe not for the reason you think!

According to Variety, the popular Amazon Prime series will be ending after its fifth season. But, unlike several other shows we’ve seen lately, this one isn’t being canceled.

Showrunner Eric Kripke announced the R-rated superhero show will end after its fifth season in a post on X / Twitter:

“#TheBoys Season 4 Premiere Week is a good time to announce: Season 5 will be the Final Season! Always my plan, I just had to be cagey till I got the final OK from Vought. Thrilled to bring the story to a gory, epic, moist climax. Watch Season 4 in 2 DAYS, cause the end has begun!”

The Boys premiered in 2019 and takes place in a universe run by a mega-corporation, Vought, and follows the battle between “supes” and the “Boys” — humans whose lives have been ruined by supes.

The series stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit and Cameron Crovetti.
