We Have Bad News About the Haunted Mansion in Disneyland

There are some rides you don’t want to skip when you take a Disney trip!

Classics like Space Mountain, Jungle Cruise, and Pirates of the Caribbean are all MUSTS, but there’s one ride that might be even more popular — Haunted Mansion. The spooky attraction has a dedicated fanbase of loyal followers, and it has been a must-do for many people over the decades. But if you’re heading to Disneyland soon, we’ve got some bad news about the popular ride!

Back in January, Haunted Mansion at Disneyland Park closed for an extended refurbishment. Not only did Disney plan to remove the Haunted Mansion Holiday theming, but construction workers also began an expansion project for the ride’s queue and surrounding areas.

This massive project will add an expanded outdoor queue that ties to the original stories and introduces new gardens — including a new greenhouse! There will also be a new retail shop. We hope it’s similar to Memento Mori at Magic Kingdom!

When the ride first closed, Disney didn’t share a reopening date. And unfortunately, we still don’t have that information! So if you’re heading to Disneyland in the future, you might want to push those dates back a little further if this is on your must-do list.

In addition to the Haunted Mansion closure, Disneyland has several other ongoing construction projects. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is being added to the park, and Critter Country is about to get a refurbishment with new shops themed to Princess and the Frog.
