If you haven’t noticed by now, we’re BIG theme park people here at AllEars!

We spend most of our time in Disney World, but we also visit Universal Orlando pretty often. And when you go to theme parks every day of the year, you get pretty good at packing a park bag for your visits. Today, we’re sharing the list of things that we pack for Disney that we DON’T pack for Universal!
When we go to Universal Orlando, we love using their refillable mugs at the Coca-Cola Freestyle machines located around the parks. But since Disney World doesn’t offer that option for the theme parks, we bring our own water bottles, like this Owala FreeSip Bottle from Amazon!

You can also pick up free cups of ice water at quick service restaurants, but sometimes it’s just easier to stay hydrated with your own bottle. There are several bottle refill stations located in the Disney World parks.
When you visit Universal Orlando, you have to store your belongings in lockers for many of the rides. Unfortunately, the free lockers are rather small, and some thicker backpacks like Loungelys need to be squished to fit.

But with Disney World attractions, you’re free to bring your bags on the ride with you. We’re big fans of a Loungefly backpack for a Disney park!
In Disney World, pin trading is very popular, with boards located around the parks and many visitors participating in the practice. While it’s available at Universal Orlando, it’s certainly not as popular.

If you’re hoping to pin trade during your Disney World trip, you might want to consider purchasing a starter pack. Sets like this Star Wars one will offer a lanyard, as well as a few basic pin designs to kick off your trading.

We’ve worn all kinds of accessories in Universal Orlando, from Hogwarts robes to Jurassic Park tees, but one thing we never wear? Minnie ears!

These are a staple in the Disney World parks, but it would definitely feel blasphemous to wear them at Universal, considering they pay homage to Disney’s mascot.

Last but not least, we’ve got to mention the plethora of phone chargers that we carry when we got to Disney World! Between Mobile Order, Genie+, taking pictures, checking wait times, and so much more, we spend a LOT of time on our phones in the Disney parks.

Because we spend so much time on our phones, we make sure to keep our bags stocked with phone chargers! It’s not as necessary at Universal, since we aren’t quite as glued to the app there. Although, it never hurts to have a spare charger in your bag at Universal Orlando anyway!
So there you have it — the things we pack for Disney World that we don’t pack for Universal Orlando! Stay tuned to AllEars for more tips and advice when visiting the theme parks.
