A CRITICAL Date in April Could Spell the Beginning or End for a Disney Expansion

A lot is riding on a very important upcoming date for Disney and pressure is mounting.

After the latest drama-filled meeting for Disneyland Forward to get approval to move forward, it doesn’t seem like the plans to expand Disneyland are totally out of the woods just yet. Another critical date for Disney is quickly approaching and what’s decided then could be pivotal for Disney.

In the last meeting held to discuss DisneylandForward, a decades-long plan to expand the Disneyland hotels, entertainment, and theme parks, a vote was taken to move on to the next phase of realization for the expansion plans.

But before we get too excited about the idea of more immersive lands and attractions based on popular characters from Zootopia, Frozen, TRON, and Tangled, there are still a few more hoops to jump through before these plans can officially be considered for construction. On April 16th, 2024, the Anaheim City Council will be expected to hear Disney’s expansion plans and vote on whether or not DisneylandForward can continue to well, move forward.

A no majority from the Anaheim City Council could certainly put a kink in Disney’s plans that they seem so passionate about bringing to fruition, but a majority vote to move the plans forward could bring Disney fans one step closer to even more exciting offerings at Walt’s original resort.
