Who doesn’t love a good Disney World souvenir?

I’m sure that Minnie Ears and bubble wands are what’s coming first to your mind, and those are all well and good, but what we’re really talking about is a super useful souvenir. We’re talking about Disney World’s refillable mugs, officially known as Rapid-Fill Refillable Mugs. If you’re on the Disney Dining Plan for your stay and are trying to make sure you get the most bang for your buck, let’s talk about these mugs and make sure you know all the rules!
We love Disney World’s refillable mugs! And if you’re on the Disney Dining Plan, you also receive one per person as part of the package.
Seriously, they’re so great and we could talk about them all day, but let’s not waste any more time and get right into all the rules you need to know about them!

Where can you get your refillable mug?
You can pick up a Resort Refillable Mug at any Resort Hotel’s quick service locations, food courts, and pool bars.

Even if you aren’t staying at that particular resort, you can still pick one up there. All you need to do is pick up a Refillable Resort Mug, bring it to a Cast Member at a register, and they will walk you through the redemption process from there.
Check The App
Remember that the My Disney Experience app tracks all of your Disney Dining Plan credits including the redemption of your Refillable Resort Mug.

In this example above, you can see that our Dining Plan participant still has TWO Refillable Resort Mugs to pick up (one per guest on the reservations; the meals are tracked by the individual guest).
Refill Those Mugs At Other Resorts
When you get your refillable mug at your Disney resort, you might not think to take it anywhere outside your hotel, but you can!! Go ahead and take full advantage of those unlimited refills and stop limiting yourself to one resort!

Here’s an example of what we mean: Recently, we were staying at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. We purchased a refillable mug at our hotel food court and then took our mug with us during our visit to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. Guess what? We refilled our mug at the Grand Floridian Hotel! You can refill your mug at any Disney World resort — even if you aren’t staying there.
Did you know that on the day you check in at your Disney resort hotel, you can grab your refillable mug from another Disney resort hotel even if you aren’t staying there? 🤩

Basically, the process works the same no matter which hotel you’re visiting!
How Long Is It Good For?
Remember, you can enjoy refills at resort self-service beverage locations for the length of your stay, up to 14 days.

Again, it doesn’t matter which resort you fill up at. You’ve got 14 days in total. That is key because the Mug is only refillable during your visit, not your next one too (The RFID chip will not function on your next vacation).
What Can You Fill It Up With?
You’ve got a lot of options available to you to refill your mug with. For example, coffee, iced or hot tea, soda, hot chocolate, and water are all good.

You CAN’T refill them with milk, “real” fruit juices like OJ or Apple Juice, or frozen margaritas.
Also, you’ll find there’s a little sink right next to the soda-pop dispensers that you can use to wash out your mug. Comes in very handy when switching between your drinks of choice.
You Can’t Use Them In The Parks
The mugs are only good for use in the resort hotels (you can’t use them in the parks unless you’re getting water).

Little known fact, you CAN purchase refillable mugs in the water parks — Disney’s Blizzard Beach and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon.
One Last Tip
If you’re NOT on the DDP and want to purchase a mug, it’ll run you $21.99 for the length of the resort stay up to 14 days.

That’s all we’ve got for you at the moment. In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.

I wish the resort coffee station would be available longer. After a long park day, it would be nice to have a mug of decaff. Disappointingly, by the time we got to our resort, the station was closed.
