Genie+ Is CHANGING in Disneyland Tomorrow!

Genie+ is almost always changing, and we know, it’s frustrating.

We do our best to keep up with all the latest changes so you know what to expect on your next vacation. The latest change is only coming to Disneyland Resort, so Disney World goers, you get a break. But Disneyland fans, this is one change you NEED to know about.

Not all of Disneyland’s rides are included in the paid Genie+ service — some are just available as Individual Lightning Lanes for an additional fee separate from Genie+. Pirates of the Caribbean is usually one of those rides.

Pirates of the Caribbean

However, starting January 22nd, 2024, Pirates of the Caribbean will temporarily be added to Genie+ instead of just being an Individual Lightning Lane!

So why the temporary change? Well, lots of rides around the park are closing for refurbishment, and this way, guests who pay for Genie+ still feel like they’re getting their money’s worth.

Disney’s Genie+

On the 22nd alone, the Mark Twain Riverboat, Haunted Mansion, and Astro Orbiter will all be closed for refurbishment. Those are some pretty popular attractions that many guests will be missing, so it’ll be great to have Pirates available to Genie+ users!

We also recently saw permits filed for park entrance changes in Disneyland, and a popular show in Disney California Adventure returned earlier this month! We’re always here to give you the latest news, so stay tuned to AllEars.

  1. Pirates was never an individual lightning lane at Disneyland. This will be the first time it is given a lightning lane while Haunted Mansion is down for queue and ADA compliance modifications.

  2. I can’t believe Disney is giving up all of the money they make from no longer selling Individual Lightning Lanes for Pirates. What will they do next, stop selling Individual Lightning Lanes for the Main Street vehicles, the parking tram, and the monorail?
