Disney’s Newest Cruise Ship Is Even CLOSER To Completion

Disney Cruise Line has built some amazing ships, but we think the newest ship in the fleet, the Disney Treasure might outshine them all.

The new ship will feature a Haunted Mansion lounge, a Coco-themed restaurant, a Moana show, new entertainment, and more. The theme of the ship is all about adventure, too, and it certainly sounds adventurous. We’ve been keeping up with the ship’s construction, and we have a big update to share with you.

The Disney Treasure is being constructed at Meyer Werft Shipyard in Germany (which is responsible for the construction of a LOT of cruise ships). We’ve been getting a lot of updates recently, including one where we learned that the ship’s signature funnels had been added.

Well, ship construction just reached another HUGE milestone. First, we have to explain: ships are built in blocks (basically sections). Well, the last block of the Disney Treasure is complete! That means the ship’s structure has been completed and the rest of the work will go towards outfitting it.

So what will go in that last block/section? It will be the home of the adults-only Quiet Cove area (that will include Cove Cafe), as well as Hero Zone, a “futuristic sports arena where physical activity blends with imagination, offering highly produced show experiences in addition to free-play sports.” Okay, that sounds INTERESTING.

The Disney Treasure will be taking its maiden voyage on December 21st, 2024. We’ll be keeping an eye out for even more announcements about its construction and what you’ll find onboard, so be sure to check back with AllEars again soon.
