The NEW Reason You Need to Visit Disney’s Saratoga Springs Hotel

When it comes to food, we’re always down to experiment and be the first to try new things.

Always down for some snacks!

So, when Disney announced that Artist’s Palette at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort would be getting some new menu items, we marked our calendars and made sure to wear our stretchy pants to Disney World on August 9th. We tried a few new things at this quick-service eatery, and we decided to show off these new menu items and tell you whether they are must-gets or must-SKIPS. Let’s go!

We tried three of the new menu items: the Beef on Weck, the Derby Day Pie, and the Artist’s Palette Cookie. (Yes, we got two desserts. What about it?) We’ll stop rambling and get into the delicious details now.

Looks delicious! Will it taste just as good?

First up, we got the Beef on Weck. The menu says that this dish is $11.29 but we paid $10.79 for it. This sandwich features sliced brisket and horseradish cream on a Caraway brioche bun — served with Au Jus and Saratoga chips. This is Disney’s version of a traditional Beef on Weck, which is typically served with roast beef rather than brisket. If you’re a fan of the original sandwich, this one might be interesting to try!

This item was DELICIOUS — we gave it 10s across the board. It’s a great deal for the price, too! If you love meat and lots of flavor, this is a great option for you.

Next up we tried the Derby Day Pie for $5.99. This is a pie shell with chocolate and pecan filling topped with salted caramel buttercream and horseshoe decor.

We also gave this one a 10/10, but we also love pecans. If you aren’t a fan of nuts, you probably won’t like this one. However, if you’re looking for something that tastes like it came straight from Grandma’s kitchen on a summer day, this is the snack for you.

Last but not least, we tried the Artist’s Palette Sugar Cookie for $5.49. This is a sugar cookie with icing “paint” and strawberry biscuit stick “paintbrush.”

This one’s just meh. I mean, it’s not bad, but it’s also not AMAZING, either. It’s a great option for kids who don’t have super adventurous palettes, and the “paint” aspect could be fun for them.

Overall, these new items are great additions to the menu and we definitely weren’t disappointed. We’ll be sure to keep you updated with more restaurant news and details on the snacks we try. Make sure to follow along for more!

  1. Woah, I’ve heard about Disney snacks before, but never tried ‘em. Now I am willing to try them all, the new ones look so dope and delicious! Especially the cookie pallete and sandwich, as a fan of the classic one I’m so down to try the one that is new 😋 And also not that expensive. And also a combo – my grandma really used to bake something like mini pies with hazelnuts so the pecan one of yours reminded me of how tasteful it was when I was a little kid that stayed on a vacation at grandparents. What a cool time it was!
