EVERYTHING You Can Do In Universal Orlando’s NEW Minion Land

Universal Orlando’s Minion Land officially opens on August 11th.

We were invited to a media event, though, to check out EVERYTHING you’ll be able to see and do in that land, though, early. So we’re bringing you along for the ride.

Okay, so here’s the deal: Minion Land soft-opened in Universal in June 2023, but its official opening date isn’t until August 11th. We were invited to a media event, though, to check out EVERYTHING you’ll be able to see and do in that land.

When we got there, we listened to a few speakers and even got to meet a Minion!

Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast

A brand new attraction is debuting with Minion Land. On Villain-Con Minion Blast, you’ll join the Minions, Belle Bottom, Jean Clawed, and the rest of the Vicious 6 in a unique blaster attraction where you’ll stand on moving platforms while using Freeze Rays, Banana Bombs, Explosive Nunchucks, and more to get points and become a supervillain in your own right.

We could already tell that the theming was excellent as we walked in.

We loved getting to check out all the interactive details and play with the blasters!

At the end, there’s also a pretty cool gift shop.

Despicable Me Minion Mayhem

Minion Land also features Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, an existing Universal Orlando attraction that has been brought into Minion Land. On this attraction, you’ll join Gru, his daughters, and the Minions on a wild and unpredictable ride.

Minion Cafe

You’ll also be able to dine at Minion Cafe, a Minion-themed restaurant where Kevin is the head chef with the other Minions helping to prepare your meals. You’ll be able to dine in the restaurant (with its fun Minions theming) or pick up your meal to go. The menu features a lot of drinks and foods, including PX-41 Punch, Otto’s Noodle Bowl, Chicken Stuart’s Szechuan Surprise, Fluffy Unicorn Cupcake, Minion Swiss Roll, and more. We thought that this Cafe was adorable. Everything is YELLOW, of course!

We also particularly loved this detail that made us laugh:

Bake My Day

You’ll also be able to visit the Bake My Day Shop, which is full of Minion-themed merchandise and snacks. Just about any Minion merchandise you can imagine, you’ll probably find it here.

There’s also a bakery case full of Minion-themed treats, too.

We ended up trying this dessert roll that looks like a Minion, of course.

Freeze Ray Pops

If you’re in the mood for a sweet treat that’s been prepared with a freeze ray, then Freeze Ray Pops is the place for you.

There are several different popsicles to choose from…

…but we ended up getting this one, since it looked like a Minion.
