Is This New (And EXPENSIVE) Disney World Experience Worth It?

Disney World is full of unique experiences you won’t find anywhere else.

The Edison

And, if you’re looking to take your next trip to the next level — Disney Springs might be the perfect place to do it. Between the latest concerts, exciting entertainment, shopping, and dining, chances are you’ll find something you want to do. And, if you’re a fan of cocktails there’s a new experience you might want to check out!

The Edison at Disney Springs is a great spot with delicious eats, stellar cocktails, and exciting entertainment. Not only that, but The Edison is home to special events and mixology classes. We were invited to check out one of these mixology classes, so follow along to see what it’s like!

Introducing the “Shaken & Stirred Cocktail Classes!” This hands-on experience puts you behind the bar while you create and try different cocktails. Folks will learn the basics of mixology, create some recipes, and develop the tools to make delicious drinks at home.

The classes come with 2-3 cocktails and a “light lunch,” and classes are limited to 6-10 guests. Each class starts at 1PM and usually lasts between two and two-and-a-half hours. You’ll also need to reserve 72 hours in advance.

Before we get into the drinks — let’s talk about the snacks! Our experience included this charcuterie offering, and if you know us, you know we’re suckers for a good charcuterie board. This was no different! Depending on the experience you book, the light lunch offering may be different.

We kicked things off with a taste of bourbon…

YUM

…followed by some rye whiskey! The mixologist taught us how to taste each sample specifically to get more interesting notes which that was really cool. The bourbon was more vanilla-forward and we tasted mostly cherry on the rye. We also learned a bit about the difference between bourbon and rye and some of the history there.

Smooth.

During our class, we were making an Old Fashioned and a Margarita, but we also sampled other cocktails including a Stinger, a Mezcal cocktail, a gin martini, and a Caipirinha.

But, check out this Old Fashioned we made!

A margarita? Say no more. The bartenders shared that this would be the best margarita we’ve ever had — and they were right! It was light, tart, and refreshingly simple.

This special event will cost you $100+ per guest ($100 per person plus fees), and that pricing can vary depending on what you book. A 50% deposit is required when you book as well — but if you love cocktails and mixology classes, this might be a fun experience for you!

We’ll be keeping up with even more special events throughout Disney World, so stay tuned to AllEars for the latest.
