An iconic Disney ride has CHANGED for a limited time!
Space Mountain usually blasts you through the stars (to some rockin’ music) in Disneyland Park. While that’s still true of the ride today, the coaster has changed in a key way, but only for a limited time.
It’s May, which means it’s Star Wars month in Disneyland! That’s right, Disneyland is taking May the 4th to a whole other level with an entire month (May 1st through June 4th) dedicated to the space battles, characters, and more of the beloved franchise.
New experiences, snacks, and other surprises are set to hit the park this month, along with Star Wars Nite (a separately ticketed Star Wars-themed event).
And one of the special things you can experience during Star Wars month at Disneyland is the return of Hyperspace Mountain!
What is Hyperspace Mountain? Good question! It’s when the regular Space Mountain ride at Disneyland gets a Star Wars makeover! Instead of the “traditional” ride, guests will get a unique experience where they “fend off cross fire from swarms of New Republic X-wing starfighter and Imperial TIE fighters,” get a message from Admiral Ackbar, and even conduct an assault on a Star Destroyer.
This special version is one we’ve seen in past years and it returned to Disneyland Park on May 1st, 2023. It’ll only be available through June 4th though, so you’ll want to visit soon.
